Codes U0428 & C2205
*UPDATE* Codes U0428 & C2205
Ok guys Im trying to decide what I should do here. I just stopped in at my local Mitsu dealer to ask if they were mod friendly when it comes to warranty stuff. The guy I spoke with says they are. Here's the list of mods I have on the car, TBE, drop-in filter and a Cobb AP. I understand I will have to unmarry the AP from the car. Heres where the tricky part comes in. I keep getting these 2 codes about once a week which points to a faulty steering angle sensor. I have an appointment this Wednesday. When I unmarry the AP im sure the codes are going to disappear and im sure they wont appear by the time I have my appointment. Right now the codes are not present on the AP. What should I do? Suck it up and just purchase a new sensor and install myself when the codes pop up again? Possibly waste my time and take it to the dealer without any codes in the ECU? Im torn what to do....
Thanks in advance!!!
Thanks in advance!!!

Same thing happened to me. I have a Cobb AP, and I had my steering wheel angle sensor replaced a couple months or so ago.

I tried at first to just clear the codes using my Cobb, but they kept coming back. So then I thought maybe just the calibration was off because the codes would come back with no real pattern, and I read somewhere that since Dodges seem to have the same sensor on their cars, I would give it a go and try their calibration method of the turning the wheel full lock back & forth after starting, but it did't work...CEL's kept coming back.
I then took it to the dealership (with my Cobb map still in the ECU), told them about the problem, and asked them to just read the trouble codes for me. An appointment to fix it was then made, and before taking it back in, I unmarried the Cobb AP from my car. After the fix of course I remarried the Cobb and checked to see if the dealership had cleared the codes...which they did.
So far so good.

Thanks for everyone advise. Its much appreciated!!!
DarwinX - That's probably what I'm going to have to do. I read the factory service manual and it doesn't seem like Ill be able to install this sensor myself without being about to calibrate it.

UPDATE: I got it to the dealer with the codes. At least the codes showed up on my unmarried AccessPort. The dealer scanned for codes and found nothing. How can my AP show now 3 codes and the dealer not able to read anything? This is getting frustrating!!!
