And the 1981 technology is not even close to the 2009 + , i think we can agree on that one at least.

you guys are being ridiculous.
you complain about the price of the new car.
you complain about the weight of the new car.
mitsu does a change that won't effect the functionality of the engine in any way (maybe keeps the engine cooler if anything) and you're now mad that you can't paint it.

I bet this piece reduces cost and it reduces weight. I'm sorry you can't bling it out as easily as you could with an aluminum valve cover. Feel free to buy one if you care about that worthless crap. From a performance/cost perspective, it makes sense. Especially considering how aftermarket manufacturers love to advertise weight decreases (hollow swaybars).
Guarantee one doesn't break or crack on anyone's car. If anything, it may be more robust in this application than aluminum since it won't hold in heat or warp as easily against the rubber valve cover gasket.

hm, i think you see it wrong. I just need a solid proof why is not good . I dont mind the plastic cover. When i bought my X , most of the Evo guys thought , the X is not an evo anymore, fact its a shame of the Evos... Remember those days ?
Didnt stop me to get one And i'm still not feel to be proven wrong with my decision today . Maybe later, but i doubt.So the plastic wouldn't be any issue for me.
IF it will be a problem , then i will protest against it. But so far i dont hear any problem. So until its starts having problem, i will not speak against it.
I'm up for new ideas.

I guess you have no choice but to keep the plastic engine cover on. That plastic valve cover is hideous.
I honestly could care less for weight savings. I'd really like to see someone pull one off and weigh the plastic vs. metal. I'm sure it costs less to produce the thermoplastic valve cover, but where is the dollar savings on the MSRP? If they skimped out on this part, imagine what else on the car has been changed to save costs.
Remember the MKIV Supra? Closer to the end of the Supra they replaced quite a few parts on that car to lower the MSRP...in a lot of ways with inferior parts. Do a search.
