Transmission Shifting notchiness
Transmission Shifting notchiness
Hey guys,
I testdrove an Evo X GSR a week ago and I noticed one thing about the shifter. The shifting was very notchy and wasn't like all the honda's that I've driven in the past. Shifting in those cars was a breeze. Easy to get in gear and easy to get out, making WOT crossovers EASY. But I had a little more trouble in this car and the notchyness made me mis-shift while coming out of a freeway onramp at fullspeed. Maybe I'm just spoiled with easier-to-drive transmissions.. who knows.
My question is:
Are all GSR's like this or is it uncommon? If it is common, is there a way to make it smoother?
Thanks in advance.

Like Kajii said, this is common in most if not all Xs. It is more prevalent when the transmission is cold and it tends to temporarily go away after warming up. The 1-2 and 2-3 shifts have been noted as the worst offenders and as far as I know, there are currently no known remedies for this.
