Shifting still notchy

I've changed out my rubber shifting bushings for poly ones and changed out my tranny fluid with Royal Purple synthentic and my shifting is still extremely notchy. After reading all the posts about how people's shifting were a night and day difference after doing the same aftermarket upgrades I must say that I am a little jaded. I was expecting my shifting to be like "butter". Can anybody offer any advice to possible problems or fixes? Those are my only upgrades for the drivetrain and I only have 7900 miles on my car.

bleeded the clutch pump it had air and my car was new!
engine damper helped for high rev gear changing!

Thanks for the reply jrsimon. You actually read my mind as far as adjusting the clutch pedal. I realized that it didn't have enough free play in it so I adjusted that and it helped out. I also realized that my aftermarket floor mat was catching the edge of the clutch pedal and was pulling on the rubber part of the pedal. It shifts a lot better now. I think my next purchase will be the Kartboy bushings that go inside the engine bay. I think I will also try bleeding my clutch pump. I try not to shift to high on the RPMs due to gas prices, but we all know how difficult that can be when we are driving our cars and some dummy tries to out run you.

Not that I'm totally satisfied but the addition of BG Syncroshift definately helped with shifting. It took awhile to work in also. The more I drove, the better it got.

Front motor mount and a Stiffy will make a noticeable difference.

I have one heck of a time trying to get mine in 4th over 7k. I got BG II, I was going to try one of these mounts, and bushings along with another pedal adjustment... a little higher up.

I was going to try the BG II, but none of the stores in my area carried it and the shifting was getting worse everyday. I have noticed a big improvement with my shifting now that the Royal Purple has worked its way through the system. I also ordered some Motul 90 gear oil since the local dealership only sells the Diaqueen LSD in five gallon containers and I don't need that much.

The clutch adjustment would likely be the reason your shifting improved. The royal purple is about as good as it gets in these trannies. I have tried just about everything out there.

How many turns did you go? The only thing the clutch adjustment does for me is raises the release point and does nothing for my 2nd gear grind-when-its-cold.
