Since I have both I can tell you the Evo does not get driven a lot in the summer the S2000 or the motorcycle are my choices I have tracked both and in the Evo the car is a lot smarter than the driver and you don't really feel what's going on like in the S2000. The S is a pure sportscar while the Evo is a computer with wheels It is fast but you can't beat the wind blowing in your hair on a summer day. Winter well that's a whole different story so I get out the winter beater(Evo) for the good skiing weather season

I identify with your situation completely. My car before my X was an AP1 2003 S2k. Perfectly reliable and ran perfect always. For tracking one, think seriously about brake upgrades as they get real iffy after some hard use. I loved the driver input needed for that car. You become a better driver with an S2k out of necessity and attention is always needed with any spirited driving. For a few months, I didn't like my new X very much at all. It felt big, the steering was not as tight and I felt like I was sitting in a cheap family sedan instead of a low, snug sportscar. After a spirited day at the Dragon, I finally felt how awesome the suspension is on the X.

The driver involvement, seating position, screaming 9k redine, short throw shifter and open top are still missed bigtime even after driving my X for almost a year. The S2k feels and sounds much more like a race car to me than my X. My definition of "fun" on a track is not just lowest times but the quick thinking of inputs required to stay on the asphalt. However, on my last track day with my S, I started getting kinda jealous of my inability to keep up with the Evos and Sti's.

An S2k with FI would be an ideal track or second car to me. Check out some boosted S2k's on youtube. That was going to be my route until I needed just one vehicle.
