08 X MR daily driver here. Zero problems other than a loose strut tower brace that was diagnosed and fixed by the dealer.

Love it.

I use my 08 EVO X MR as a daily driver. Great daily driver. The SST is perfect for daily driver.
Downfall on having the evo as a daily driver: Gas Mileage (still lower than a v6 truck); trunk space (there is not trunk space at all); weather that is colder than -20 (Canada) the car starts but it does not run smoothly.
Use my 89 240sx as a drift car.

DD my EVO X GSR and love every minute of it. Much easier to drive than my 951 around town. Clutch is much easier on my knee.

I use my 2008 Evo X GSR as a daily driver. It barely rains here, and the southern california roads here in southern orange county (I live in Irvine, CA) really permits "spirited driving." Next car is totally a SUV though--I like the outdoors too much!

i admire and envy you guys that DD your X. I have about an 80-90mi commute each day and that was enough for me to opt for a GTS now and put the EVO on hold until I can live closer to the job.

ups to you

I drove my decently modified evo8 for about 3 years as a DD, 60 miles a day till 120k miles or so, all with 0 issues.

This winter I traded my 8 with winter tires for a stock 2010 X on advans... omg.. Of course right now it feels like I traded my evo for an escort, but I'm getting used to it and in a few months it'll be just like old if not better.

You will be fine, many people with way more mods DD'ing their X's.

I will be hitting 450-500whp soon and DD'ing mine.

Wish I could DD mine... The snow is not a friend of mine though. So I only DD it in the Spring/Summer/Fall.

$400 dollar beater for winter! All you need is heat and wheels anyway!
