A woman will understand easier that you love the wing of the car than the AWD talk.
AWD concept for a lady is like Einstein theory for a little kid. It’s just not understandable.

I have being explaining what 4x4 and AWD means to my wife, and the one before, and nothing. Waste of time.

Take another shortcut, work the feelings

Don't forget to tell here there are cup holders in each of the front doors PLUS the two in the center console. That'll be a plus.

buy the car without telling her. She will be mad for a while, but will come around eventually. Who's $$ is it anyways ? If she wants to buy something, is she asking you for permission ? or is this only 1 way ?

tell her "look baby it's a 4door, great saftey for the family, great handling, and I WON'T MODIFY THE CAR AT ALL IT WILL BE 100% STOCK", then once you get it complain about the wheel gap and how sluggish it is, and how it would look so much better with an exhaust. and how the stock intercooler piping keeps popping off or has a hole in it.

Take her out for a nice dinner (or make her a nice dinner). Have some wine. Then sit her down and tell her why it is you really want an EVO. Maybe print her out articles on all the awards it has won (every presentation is better with visual aids). Why it is a super safe winter vehicle. Embelish a little, like how it gets good (cough) gas milage. See if she is willing to atleast come test drive one with you and then make her decision.

If your birthday is coming up play that card. Ultimately, you just have to show her how happy it is going to make you. If none of that works, well you can always ask her for your ***** back next Xmas

I think having kids helps out a lot. When my wife purchased mine and we brought the car home, the boys were so excited that whenever the boys have a choice of riding in my wifes car or my EVO, they choose the EVO. Taking trips in the EVO have made my boys forget about buying certain things because they think it is a reward to ride in the EVO. Seeing the boys happy makes my wife extremely happy. With the difficulty couples are having with regards to an EVO purchase, I think that I will have to have my wife post to explain why females should purchase EVOs over other vehicles.

Does you wife know how to drive a manual transmission? I think this will play into her decision a bunch. She is never going to be cool with you getting a car you can only drive. The other members hit on all the safety features and I think those speak for themselves. I just wonder if she can drive a stick cause that might be why she wants a different family car.

If all else fails, show her the RECARO baby seat from lancershop.com and tell her that the baby seat and the car are a match made in Heaven..lol

Good luck

an evo x is a grown up car imho, the evo 8/9 doesnt look as "mature". if you dont get that, look into m35's or g37x, as a current g owner, i have no complaints

on a side note, tell her to make you a sammich and let go of your sac

if you really really want it then get it, I know nothing would stop me from getting mine......on the otherhand with 2 kids its probably not the best choice unless your wife has an suv or something because.........well just check out the trunk space for your self and you'll know what im talking about.

Not only the abilities of the Evo will get you out of trouble, but you will look like a champion doing it. The Evo has added safety that other cars lack of. The AWD will be a joke in winter. Furthermore, plenty of "families" ride in Evo's, there is enough space in the back for your 2 young kids.

My opinion is, if she's not paying for it, then choose the car for you.
