An IX grocery getter

Unfortunately, for this situation you chose to make yourself a financial unit with someone that does not share your same taste in cars at this point in your life (marriage can be a real *****), so thus you are a decision unit as well. Why dont you buy an older evo (cheaper price) and an older "family friendly vehicle" what ever that means

Then you get the best of both worlds

If my wife EVER made a mention of a "more grown up car," or any other similarly obtuse automotive/cultural assertion, we wold not be married. I'm not joking. Marriage is hard enough as it is. If a basic understanding and respect for one's orientation doesn't exist from the beginning, there nowhere to go but down. My wife knew she was marrying a car guy.

I haven't read this whole thing, but found the thread title interesting. Okay, I'm a little biased, cause I am a female that has a IX. I've seen a freind have to get rid of his cause they needed a more family car. PULEEZZ. It's safe. The performance and handling has saved me from psycho paths. I've had to use its performance to get me away from dumb *** drivers. 1 - Semi didn't see me and cut me off on the outside lane. If it wasn't for the ability to turn quickly and go fast, I would've been screwed, but instead the little length of shoulder I had was handled! I've had a drunk driver try to side swipe me. Once again, the handling saved my ***. When he tried it again, he did a 360, where as I just swerved a little and floored it to get away. If I was in any other car, I would've been screwed. Has she been in one, driven one....? I would never make my man get rid of his cause of kids. There is a back seat you know. Anyway, good luck!

She wants him to get a maxima to drive in CT,...in the winter, WTF

I like what Fjf said, but if its part her money, I think she does have a say in this poor guys situation.

I got one more thing to add for this guy which is as follows:

IF YOU ARE TRYING TO GET A BUNCH OF STRANGERS ON AN ONLINE COMMUNITY TO CONVINCE YOUR WIFE TO LET YOU BUY A CAR THAT SHE IS NOT INTERESTED IN GETTING, YOU MIGHT AS WELL HEAD DOWN TO THE DODGE DEALER AND PREPARE TO GET A CARAVAN

Good Luck

Do what I did. I had wanted an EVO for a long time. I asked my wife to go to a dealership and just "check one out". My wife saw how hot the car looked, we started talking, they offered us a great deal....and the next thing we knew we were discussing financing options.

After I bought my G35 and mywife saw how ridiculously bad it got around in the winter, she insisted we trade it in for another Evo. No convincing needed.

"Convince your wife?" This is as lame as the used car ads that the guy says "I gotta sell my IROC cuz my old lady sez so." It just makes you look like a liar or a gurly man.

Look, I don't expect my wife to share my passion for cars and driving but she sure respects mine. If you have run up giant credit card bills by modding and ricing up imports then I can see her point. However, if your wife is just being controlling and self-conscience, then you have a bigger problem then what kind of car to buy.
