Evo X reliability concerns and issues?

Ok, I've owned my Evo X for almost 17K miles and so far I haven't had any problems with it. Other then the shift knob falling off on day 3 of ownership, but that's just knit picking(super glue fixed that). I have however read A LOT of complaint stories on this forum and others. People keep talking about things going wrong and constant problems with the EVO X. This makes me question if perhaps I should get rid of my evo within the year? So my point is......How many of you DID NOT have problems with your X ? small things like my shift nob do not count.

Only one problem for now. Broken clutch master cylinder but after installing aftermarket clutch. Everything else fine.

Maybe to guys who cut their hands from broken shift knob or humiliated infront of the girl he was dating it is something important

I don't think the reliability of X improved over IX but of course the amenities have. It isn't a terribly a bad thing since evo was never an unreliable car to begin with and they didn't use that as an excuse to jack up the price. My IX rattles, just like reports on some X's, but so what, I didn't buy the car to be pampered. The X is actually doing well considering that it is on a new platform with a new engine. Compared to all the electrical horror stories you hear about first year 3 series, 5 series, A4 and A6, the X is a well built car. Things going broke after slapping on mods is expected from any cars, and evo fares well especially when you take into account on problem per horsepower increase.

I've never had a problem. Most people that say that it is crap have only had little problems- Seat material coming loose, rattles, and when stuff breaks after abusing it(clutch).

I have heard a couple horror stories but those look to be very rare.

You should definitely get rid of it simply because you're going to go off of what you read on the internet vs. your own personal experience.

I didn't get the car because I knew it was going to be reliable. I got it because of the performance and looks. You can't expect much from Mitsubishi, they've got to save money somewhere.

No problems...till some idiots at a tuner shop touched my X....other than that...just as perfect as my VIII.

What are you doing to your shift knob if it falls off that easy? You can always take it back to Mitsu...and say what the h3ll's with the knob..I'm sure'll they'll fix it...sounds more like knit-picking to me.

15K miles/ 1 year and 0 reliability problems. I expected some recalls and tsb's and as it's a new model, I have no problem with that.

no issues and i'm coming up on 20k here in a while. Love the car. Only complaint would be my stock tires are about shot. I'm hoping to make it to 20 but we'll see if the car can make it.

18k+ miles one mine in 10 months. No major problems except for a stupid piece of trim that won't stay latched and only real complaint would be squeaky brakes.
