I go for wingless.

Some say it affects aerodynamics, some say it is a regular lancer without a wing. Some will say something else new.

Whatever it is, last time I drove my car it still feels like an Evo except with better rear vision. Maybe I don't drive fast enough to feel "the missing wing." Don't get me wrong as I am anti-wing. I like the look of the wing but it does bother me seeing it in the mirror.

Do whatever you want OP. Just go through the photos in this forum and make your decision.

Yeah it's your choice op. Heck the more that take off their wings the more unique my evo with a wing becomes! Everyone go wingless!

Exactly. More of a reason to remove it and not be like the rest of the sheep. I debadged mine and while it helps, I still get morons in STI's and beamers trying to race me on the freeway. Remove the wing and people don't just automatically know, unless they KNOW Evos

The advantage to the wing (aside from handling at high speeds) is that it blocks most headlights (at a small distance) from your rear view mirror. Very nice at night.

Hmmm. I drive a modified MR Touring and really don't feel it suffers in the way of performance compared to other Evos. The sunroof doesn't make it the ideal choice for a track-only car, but I would hardly say it is only an Evo in name:

Wait, how is removing the wing making you "not like the rest of the sheep"? since when do carollas and accords drive around with huge wings on? sure you might be less like the EVO next to you, but a hell of a lot more like the family sedan doing 25. if im gonna have a sick car, im gonna want everyone else to know it. i want those bemmers and stis to know what theyre messin with. idk. maybe its because i live in a place where there are 0 evos and a handful of stis and nothing else. wing stands out. thats what the evo should do. just my $.02 though. i mean if you really dont like the wing, no biggie it does look good wihtout it too. i just think if you wanna be "different", taking the thing off doesnt help at all

Believe me, that big tuner wing sticks out for sure

It just sticks out in the wrong way for some evo owners. Personally, I think the wing is gauddy(sp?), over sized, cumbersome, tacky, cop magnet, etc, etc....I could keep going, but you get the point.

I wont rock one on my IX, but when I see them on other evo's, I like the look, and wonder if I'm missing out on something

You mentioned above that without a wing, those "bemmers and stis" wont know what they are messing with...and why is that,...because without the wing, it is different than other evo's and not as easy to recognize to the untrained eye. Most peeps sight out evo's based on the wing, especially those that cant recognize an evo any other way (i.e. - FMIC, hood, sexy lines, etc, etc.)

Its all personal preference, and I think you should rock the wing for all its worth if thats your thing

I resolve to never debating this point again as I have way too many times in the past, but it has been fun

I want to see some wind tunnel testing that shows just how much "downforce" this wing creates. I really don't see it doing a whole hell of a lot unless you're seriously buzzing, somewhere around triple digits+. I could be wrong tho, I personally havent tracked mine or buzzed above 100 but twice, in a straight line. I've pondered de-winging mine too, but I think plugging the holes is tacky as hell and I have no desire to buy another lid to satisfy be winged and wingless.
