which intake/filter?

Im trying to stay outta the pedal till it hit 600 so i have another few weeks to go.. so far i enjoy it... miss the power my old one had

Same here. If you break 5k RPMs during break-in, just blame it on that "sudden unintended acceleration" thing like all the Toyotas have, lol.

But back on-topic, I'm thinking of just starting out with maybe a WORKS or Ralliart drop-in filter. I'm also considering K&N and Perrin, but really have no idea if there's much difference between them -- or which ones are cleanable.

From what I've read, a tune is highly recommended when switching to an open-air intake -- which I really don't wanna do until I can get an AP and a pro-tune (for an easier revert to stock if needed). Can I get by without any issues, having just a drop-in filter without a tune??

i got the k&n drop in, i can hear the turbo spool better plus dont hane to mess with it really for 5k check up with dealer

Search. This has been discussed at length. There are user member's dyno charts showing gains. There are tuner's dyno charts showing gains. There are discussions around whether you need an intake at all (the stock box is decent up to a certain HP level). There are discussions around whether a drop-in is enough or if you need to go with a full intake kit.
