I can identify with your feelings exactly, sailing217, as I just bought my college-aged daughter a WW MR so that she can shuttle back and forth, to and from campus. BTW, I am 63 years old and loving my '04 RS. "Still Crazy After All these Years."

Just go wingless if you are concerned about the "racer boy" look.

^.....Same here, I feel the same way. I work in downtown atl for a soda pop company. Many of the workers are lawyers, executives and scientists so you can imagine pep are always staring. Not to mention everybody is rolling in their Bimmers or Mercs and exec in their ferraris. The stares sometimes can be too much put I will not part the car because of what others think--their not paying for it. Period. I jus take the wing down and call it a day.

Yeah, exactly.....Why? I am over sixty and I increasingly prefer cramped and even tortuous seating. Pain tends to keep me from dozing off. You shouldn't underestimate the power of pain.

[OT] One of the major car rags reviewed a GT3RS a while back. They said their youngest tester felt the car was too stiff, while the oldest thought it was just right. Make of that what you will. [/OT]

Ha Ha, After reading this thread I don't feel so old now.(46) Anyway to the OP, why should you care what others think about what you drive?... You shouldn't let what others think (especially your friends) about you, dictate your life. Do what makes you happy. Have fun with the evo.

Let them look, who cares? I de-winged mine and made it look "normal". If you love it drive it. I have a 65ish year-old lady in my neighborhood driving around a new MR-T. AWESOME!
