Ok, went to Harbor Frieght. Got 2 ton light weight aluminum jack, 3 ton aluminum jack stands, 1/2 Torque Wrench with case, 1/2 Breaker Bar, 3 socket extension sets, 3 vice grips, big blue tarp, tire guage, Light weight creeper, and..wood glue....for $140. Not bad at all.

Off to Sears later.

If the OP doesn't want to spend much, he can just get a $20 harbor freight torque wrench (it's relatively acccurate). There is even a coupon recently to get a 1/2" drive torque wrench for $9.99. Google search online for harbor freight coupons you can print out for use in store.

BTW, I would recommend going with 3/8" drive socket and torque wrenches. They are the most common and will work for most jobs (and it's easiest to find 3/8" and 1/4" sockets with adapters).
oh i absolutely understand the importance of them, but like i said it depends on the type of jobs he's doing. plus there's no one torque wrench for all jobs, you have to buy a couple to fill the range of torque specs and that can get pricey so maybe it's not in his best interest. if the jobs that he's doing aren't that intensive, he might be able to squeeze by without one. although i have to say, i didn't realize how cheap the harbor freight torque wrenches are. dunno if i'd trust one of them but i have no experience so i can't say for sure.

Just wanted to kinda close this thread. I got this http://www.sears.com/shc/s/p_10153_1...nics+Tool+Sets from Sears for like $130. I got that specific one because it had a toolbox instead of a plastic fold out case. I figured I wanted some extra room for the other things I got.

Thanks for the help everyone.
