you guys are amazing!!! 30,40,50,60K what ever you spent on your car and your all going on about your seats ..... if you dont like them, go and buy some new ones!
Its like spending $1m on a house and saying that you dont like the postbox!
(ps I have no seat issues)

on the EVO Vs. GTR issue .....
I used to own a Porsche and many of my non car friends have asked me why would i want an Evo when i could have a 911 or GTR etc ..... and I always tale about the options ….
When you have an Evo, it can be anything you want..... its your car..... there are so many options from so may 3rd party manufacturers wheels, seats, exhausts, carbon fibre parts, intakes, dash kits, the list is endless ...... stealth, wingless, aggressive, dirt
Try doing that with a Porsche, the options are so limited and quite seriously, it costs an arm and a leg…. Not only that, you’ve got almost no chance of doing it your self .. I bet the GTR is the same….
So if you want a customisable performance car that you can drive without fear for your life …..this is why I bought the evo over the GTR …. They do look good in matt black tho’!

I actually just got a chance to really clean my car up yesterday (it was the first really warm day in a while) and the car now has many more chips than it did after just a single winter season, and I mean chips on the hood, on the lower door panels, not on the rear because I do have mudflaps thank God, but even on the wheels... I mean little chips all over the wheels. Now, my mother owns an 08 Altima, and while I realize it's no GT-R or Evo as far as the quality goes, the Nissan is a MUCH better made car. You will have things about every car that you don't like but honestly after seeing all of what I did yesterday (and I don't even drive hard) it makes me want to get rid of the car completely and wait for either the R20 which the VW's are highly praised for their interior quality or something else along the lines of the Evo... perhaps the new STI sedan if they ever come out with one again.
I own a GT-R but I am considering getting an Evo X MR instead. I've been reading these forums for the last few days and I am really concerned about what I have read so far. I understand fully how people generally post negatives more than positives, but I would appreciate comments on the following things I have read...
The transmission can only handle about 300 ft/lb torque (even though it is rated for 350) and there are no upgrades out there right now to improve that. I read that there are clutch upgrades but they don't really help the max (only make the clutch last longer) and if you want to track it (even stock) you have to add transmission cooling.
The launch control sucks and wears down the clutch significantly.
400hp can be achieved with minimal tuning, but quarter mile times are still 12.9 to 13.0.
The seats are very crappy and tend to fall apart.
The paint quality sucks and big chips in front of the rear wheels are to be expected.
Dealers are bastards about the warranty if you modify anything or they think you have tracked it.
I know a few people who own Evo IXs and Xs and they seemed happy with it which is why I was considering the move (as well as for financial reasons and just for a change), but these forums scare me a little. I realize that the Evo would be quite the step down in terms of performance but I thought that for about 5k, it could be made to be as fast as the GT-R, but now I am questioning that.
Any thoughts on this would be appreciated. I realize that most will probably automatically respond with the statement to get GSR instead but after driving dual clutch for a while it is hard to go back (also the reason why I am sticking with awd).

we owned our own person GT-R, manufacture parts for them etc... and do quite a significant amount of evo work,
send me a PM or call me if you would like to discuss your thoughts on the evo X (my personal car right now)

OP- have you considered getting a different, more refined AWD sports car? Something like the Audi RS4 or an older 911 Turbo? You can pick up an '07 RS4 for right around 40k right now. The 911 turbo might be a bit more. Personally, if I was expecting to spend around 40-45k for a GTR replacement , I would hands down go with an RS4. In Imola Yellow, please.

I'm letting my 911 turbo go because of my 8 and ten year olds and going back to an EVO.
I don't agree however about tuning/modding your Porsche. There are just as many mods for Porsche as the EVO because people do the same things with them. They track them, they Rally them and they RACE them. I'm a member of the PCA and over 3/4 of our membership region get them on the track at least once a season.

I also mentioned the R20 GTI... the standard GTI has been car of the year 3 times and has great interior. I don't want to get rid of it because of rock chips, but for the overall cheapness of a lot of the car. The powertrain, brakes and suspension are top notch obviously, but the cheap interior and sandblasted paint get on my nerves for owning a 31,000.00 car... or that's what I paid for mine at least. If I read reviews on the newer Subaru when it comes out and the paint sucks, I won't be going with it either. it would be a while before I switched cars anyway. I love the car, but some of the issues are very tiring.
^ I don't know about you, but I have 8.4K miles now on my X. Just this weekend, it was the 3rd time I washed it since it was bought from the dealership. The paint is still perfect and everythng looks brand new. There is one minor (barely visible unless you get close) paint chip on one side (just under the rear passenger door), but I already had that the first week of owning the car. (I'm in Cali btw)
The interior is not that bad, it's definitely better than my previous 03 Civic Si daily driver. Though, it can't compare to my wife's bimmer.
