There is one minor (barely visible unless you get close) paint chip on the one side (just under the rear passenger door), but I already had that the first week of owning the car. (I'm in Cali btw)

The interior is not that bad, it's definitely better than my previous 03 Civic Si daily driver. Though, it can't compare to my wife's bimmer.
I didn't have that many chips and such in mine either, until after winter. I hardly drove around in the winter, but I guess a lot of the sand that they put down caused a lot of problems... I have 9200 miles on mine.

I will add that there isn't endless chips in the paint, there are just several more and in areas you wouldn't think they would be there. I can fix them and make it look like it was never there at all, but it's the point that this paint should be harder and better than it is.

^ It just depends on your location and weather conditions IMHO... I doubt Subaru, Honda, Nissan, and other mainstream carmakers have much better paint quality.

keep the gt r and enjoy it stock

buy an evo ix and modify it how ever you want and enjoy 600whp daily driver for the price of a brand new evo x (35,000) pluss 5,000 thats 40, you can get a pretty good condition evo ix for 22,000 with 18,000 in mods thats a pretty good reliable fast car.

Here we go, more people that want to start an X vs IX thread...please keep those comments to yourselves. He wants something that is new and a good DD...the IX is not as good of a DD at all.

^ Dunno why the X gets so much bashing/agro from IX owners LOL. I equally respect each generation, they may be different cars (with their own ups/downs)... but they are all Evos.

If you want to mod the car to make it faster, don't go with the MR. Sure, the tc-sst is capable of taking some abuse. How much abuse can vary pretty widely. If the intent is squeeze as much as you can out of it, eliminate a bottleneck before you get it and skip the MR.

No hard feelings guys, I love the X, I think its great. Just trying to put it all out there.

ill end the X vs ix conversation, RYAN GATES, LOL

I love the X, for a good reliable car with an amazing suspension, id rock the X all day. if i was making a drag car or a high horsepower car then i would go with an 8 at that point.... buy one dirt cheap and just build to your specs.

had a IX and it was a great fun car, but it's a death trap if you get hit in the door. 2 stars did it for me ... i'm not having my wife in a car with that poor of a safety rating.. from what I understand that's why there was never a 2007 Evo, the safety standards increased and it wasn't good enough.

My mother's Altima has shown great paint wear and doesn't have nearly the chips on the front of it at 20k that mine does at 9 so I can't agree there. I will agree that it depends on the location and weather conditions though.

seems true for me right now.
I have a 2010 Toyota with 2000 miles and there is paint chips already on it, some places... Also there is also different shade of the white on the plastic parts. So there is no difference judge by eyes in quality between my Evo X vs The Toyota paint job.

Also the X is a MUCH better Daily driver then a IX ,and even better when you going back in the evo lines compare to those.

Rob

/i would keep the GT-R, if i wouldnt planning to go for serious track future if i were you/

My goal is not to go as big as possible just questioning whether I can make it as fast as the GT-R and how much that would cost.
