BUMP:

Car is getting awakened from it's winter hibernation this weekend to head over to MAP for some manifold testing.

It's not going to be full power runs the whole time, but at the end I plan to try once or twice at full boost to crack that pesky 600whp mark on the black.

I believe I will be the first to do it, but I know of many others that will be doing it shortly after me, lol

Wish me luck!

Well not to start that debate, but the Cobb dyno isn't too far off normal DJ numbers. It's lower but not a whole lot.

Also the torque readings on mustang dynos are always goofy compared to dynojets. They don't scale the same as HP.

But when someone beats me it will motivate me to change the setup and go for broke...I have other things planned in the meantime to go bigger

Thanks for the good luck though, hopefully I won't need it.

Honestly, this season for me is about keeping my car running and going down the track, numbers aren't a huge deal to me, they are nice but they aren't the end all for me.

haha yea I'm in the same boat, I dont really care about the #s..
but Hollywood said cobb reads 6% below a DJ, vs 12% for buschur and other 'heartbreakers'.

End of the day, your car kicks ***, and if I provide a push for you to upgrade, you can just keep being the trailblazer for me to follow lol

yep, what do I care if there's records? Are either of us really going to put "Highest HP bolt-on turbo on 2.0/2.1L block" No. We're not. Because we're not hotdog ;-)

The real records are held by ets/gump.

Well picked up the new AMS battery from MAP on my lunch break...ran it home...checked the voltage on it for fun, just under 13V...threw it in...started right up...YAY!

No more weird check system codes..all gone. Tested my MAP switching, still worked.

Let it warm up/idle while i shoveled down lunch...ran to get some new E85 and strangely after the new E85 I put in, the car didn't want to stay running, had to rev it. Not sure why, but it still drove fine, just at stops it didn't feel happy I guess. With just my old gas it was fine though. Probably needs some minor tweaking, maybe just the climate, who knows.

Anyways, drove it to work and its here now. Stopping and dropping it off at MAP on my way home and then I will try to talk with Chris on a schedule for the testing. Man i forgot how a car that handles feels...it was pulling every which way on the ****ty roads.

i also threw it in fifth and gave it some gas at a lower rpm to see if KnockCeL was still working good and it was. I am paranoid about that stuff because my battery died all funny so wanted to make sure the Tephramods were still working.

Made one quick pull near work on the DD tune...still feels awesome!

More to come in the next few weeks

Just realized I never updated this thread...here is a revival.

Car spun a bearing over 2 months ago. Still doing some investigating as to why and have several ideas but its neither here nor there for now.

My shortblock is at ERL racing right now and is getting bored out to a 2.2L and sleeved with a FULL build this time. I also ordered up some brand new AMS JE spec pistons in a 90mm bore and bumped up the compression to 10:1. I am E85 only so it made sense for some extra powah!

I am hoping to have it running again in a month and a half or so but we will see.

I am changing a few other things as well along the way, nothing major though, still keeping stock frame for now.

It sucks that I have to build yet another motor but at least it will have some nice uber torque
