30k Service at Dealership?

Take it in for the 30k service? Already changed the trans, diff, and trans case and plan to get the coolant changed soon. So, take it in for the 30k or no?

I think you hit all the major stuff. No need to pay $500 to have the "inspect" stuff.

Change Oil
Change Trans Fuild
Change Diff Fluid
Change Transfer Case Fluid
Check Air Filter and replace if needed
Change Spark Plugs
Check brake pads
Check hoses
Check belts

Not worth $500 IMO.

wow is that how much they charge,, i wouldnt doubt it,, when they are making you pay 60 bucks an hour, even though the job for a 30K only takes then little over an hour they still want to stick you with a 2 hour pay rate at $120

we AMSOIL have 30K service packages fully synthetic fluids for 108.98 shipped

Which dealer in NJ are you bringing your car to? What are they charging? I'm looking to schedule my 30k service for this week.

OP: if you already changed the major fluids, I wouldn't bother with the 30k service. I'm only getting a 30k at the dealer because I can't be bothered changing the fluids myself right now.

Im going to Bell in Rahway...i dont know how much they are charging thats why im asking how much anybody else was charged here.

Bell tried to charge me $65 to change the cabin filter...and that was a SALE,lol. I found out how to change it on my own through this site.

if you can't do it yourself, you could find a shop that will do it for a lot less.

FYI- I called my dealership on this again today. They told me NOT to do any of this stuff (Tranny, coolant, axle diff, belts) even though the schedule said too. My car was there for something else and they checked the fluides and told me they were all fine.
I am totally lost now, I don't want to spend money but the manual said to do this stuff. Help..

"inspect" means just that: hoses, pads, tires, ect... just stuff to make it look more expensive!

i'm sure there are pro's to having fluids swapped at 30,000. viscosity breakdown, etc. I would find a reputable private party person to do it if you can and save $400. My oil change alone was $93
