Please post up pix if/when you get the new one on..

or even a pic of the underside, if you don't - I'm kinda curious to see how AMS managed to thread a universal knob made for inserts. Are the threads just cut into the plastic, or maybe steel body underneath the CF outside??

Thanks!

edit: on closer inspection it looks like it was not re-tapped to fit the evo, it still has the original 3 stage threading so it can fit cars with 8mm,10,or 12mm diameter sticks.

it arrived today, to answer your question the threading is done into the plastic of the knob itself. it's a bit of a disappointment though, they only threaded about 1/4 inch mitsubishi spec thread pattern, then further up inside the knob is a different pattern. the result is I can only screw the knob on about half way, so it looks a little dorky. i'll have to contact them to return it.

^^ Thanks for the info.. was kinda interested in a CF knob w/OEM threading, but think I'll stay far away from that one!

I think it would fit if they retapped it as they said they would on their website, clearly someone in the shipping dept didn't get the message to send it to the machine shop before shipping.
