I would still be crying honeslty, Im get sad just by looking at that picture! you should be drunk right now ( I know I would be). The insurance should cover the car though right? again I'm glad you and the passanger are safe, and you'll have another sexy WW GSR w/ SSS in no time.

Really... that's pretty scary! Any heating in the back seats should be a recall! Do you know if the OP was running a Single?

Yes he is running a single , it was a Atrison or how ever its spelled Tbe but with that catback i always noticed it hanged really really low so i don't think that would have been a problem .

Ah, I see~ well, maybe by morning some other members will have some insight! At least everyone got out safely. I'd probably think twice about having kids in the back now

yes i was running a single exit exhaust for over a year. never had a smell of anything burning in my back seat.

what i heard was a loud pop, car turned off then back on. seemed weird but kept driving for another 20 yards or so. my friend notices a light in my back seat, we immediately pull over rip off the back seat try to put out the fire with his shirt, hands, feet, etc...fire gets bigger so we start to walk away and call 911

Yes it was , we even popped the cover and checked and it did not even appear to have gotten damaged in the fire as it is the cover was still on the pumps .

You're right about the artisan exhaust, it does hang very low. I can't see that being the culprit. Glad to hear both of you are okay.
If anything Mitsu should issue a recall on the battery and wiring as this isn't the first incident of its kind. Car looked VERY sharp too, sorry for the loss - I'd be depressed as hell too. You're not alone!

It made me sad looking at the pictures. Glad everyone is OK. Like someone else said, you can replace a car but you cant replace a friend or even yourself. Important thing is that no one got hurt.
