Removing the Spare
I was just curious. I have thought about it myself but then the obvious "what if I get a flat" pops in my head. I hate putting stuff in my trunk because the carpet and wood shelf gets tossed around so easily.
I think my first post was misleading and I hope my second one cleared it up but I guess not. I was just curious if anyone made that move to remove everything. I firmly believe that if I pulled everything and just took it for a test drive that is the exact moment I get a flat.

Didn't somebody say that the UK models don't even include a spare, and just a bottle of fix-a-flat??
Also remember reading somewhere that driving with the spare on isn't very good for the AWD system or something.. can't remember why that was though. I'm thinking maybe it's the same reasoning that you should either get a damaged tire repaired or otherwise replace all 4 tires on an AWD vehicle.
I think between AAA and my insurance plan and Mitsu's roadside assistance I might be safe without a spare.. hopefully one of those 3 could haul me to a tire shop.

I drive without a spare; ~45lb reduction. My insurance company offers free roadside assistance, if the can of Fix-a-Flat won't work, and it's not like I'd be jacking up my Evo on the side of the road anyway.
