I have been in the same boat on what to get. This will mainly be for my wife to DD as I have an 08 STi with a bunch of mods. It has a pretty heavy clutch and it's still iffy for her to drive. Since we won't be going ***** to the wall on power and will be using it to Auto-x we'll be getting the MR.

Drag racing is definitely not recommended for the MR, though, unless you upgrade the transmission.

Are all of the headaches associated with power mods? Has it been listed how much power the transmission can handle and if it can handle launching?

Once the wifey needs to drive it and can't drive manual like second nature, I think you'd want her in the MR so she can avoid hazards without extra factors for the safety of your kids and family!

GSRx2 just has more promises in the long run if you ever change your mind the MR will always be limited by the transmission

+1 for those who are saying if you plan on going heavy with mods... get the GSR.

The MR is a great daily driver... and I love the transmission. But you'll probably need a cooler for the tranny if you track a lot. And the tranny can't handle as much power as the 5-speed menual.

My Evo X GSR is flawless, I dont have all these problems people whine about.
Buy a Caddy or a Lexus if you want a super smooth quiet car. The Evo X rocks enough said.
