shortly and simply, I love the recaros (I'm 5'10//150lbs) and I love the ride cause it's not too harsh but not super smooth so you still have decent response on demand. I came from a wrx with coilovers though so anything is gonna feel good for me but I do not like too soft of a ride.

I'm looking for car that is fun to drive, has AWD, but also has comfort and a good quality interior. I was looking mostly at premium/luxury cars but most of them are too boring and generic. How is the quality of the Touring package in the MR? Is it a constantly stiff ride or can I cruise and take it easy and have a comfortable ride. I know this is a dedicated performance car but it seems like Mitsubishi is trying to target a wider audience with the X.
I can assure you that you will love mr-t. It has the luxury; leather seats, sun roof, navigation, insulation. Also, very nice ride quality; comfortable, yet very responsive.

My suggestion is go and test drive one, see how you like it. I bet you will be driving it home after that test drive

I've always thought of owning an Evo because I REALLY,REALLY WANT AN EVO.
It's kind of a dream come true to finally have one for me after test driving an 03 when they came to this continent and obsessing over that experience for 5 years.
C'mon, people don't just stumble upon an Evo while browsing Carmax ads and think it's all neato and stuff. Or maybe they do.

I love purpose driven performance cars and I can't imagine getting one if I wasn't damned obsessed with the driving experience. There are just plenty of "sporty" sedans that are more comfy if that's what is most important. Infinity g37 comes to mind. 335 too. Pontiac G8. A4. VW CC etc...

Evos are for passionate drivers and maybe the new Touring model provides some cushiness to go with its Evo-ness. I don't know. 44k for an Evo though ? It's a niche vehicle with only the STI/WRX in that narrow niche and the edginess of those cars have gotten pretty darn blunt. Get an Evo because you just gotta have an Evo.

Here's my opinion: you have to love the Evo line to appreciate one. That said, the MR-T is quite different from the regular MR or GSRs. It already comes with extra sound dampening and after trying out the full leather seats, I found them to be a little more cushiony than the cloth or suade leather combos. The sound when stock is so dampened that you really wish it had more of those expected performance road and exhaust notes but that's just me. You should just go and test drive one to see for yourself. I still find it ironic how the MR-T is supposed to be the super luxury Mitsu, yet once you get a sunroof, you lose the rear dome light. Only complaint about the MR-T trim comes from my passengers who can't see when getting into the car when it's very dark outside. Sometimes it's the small things.

Not everybody is a die-hard EVO fan like you bro. He doesnt have to be obsessed to consider buying one.

I love my MR Touring and i get every single stock hp/torq out of it as I can. I drive it daily and its not really the car that you can cruise really relaxed in. The TL S type Acura is a bit more luxurious than the MR T and around the same performance. But the handling of an EVO, dont expect that in any car around the same price. If you bump up to 100k ull get the handling of an EVO. EVO drive is hella fun. Ive actually never had this much fun in any car. Used M3 might be a good bet if you want to use it cruise/performance.

Yeah, I sound like an Evo fanboy! I think sometimes people cross shop these cars with other sedans that are maybe better suitable for DD use. Unless you're really jacked about the performance, some of the Evo drawbacks can make the car kind of a bummer after the initial "wow this car is amazing" phase wears off.

That makes sense. I'm just trying to stay away from the Audi A4, BMW 3 series, and Lexus IS type of cars. The only way I will know if I can handle this car daily is by test driving it. Otherwise I'm just assuming things. It's probably a little too hardcore for me but I really want to like it lol.

I'm in my early twenties. I used to have an AMG Mercedes and I drove that thing like a lunatic but I'm not into that whole scene anymore. I like fun cars but I like to cruise and be comfortable. I guess I'll just have to test drive one and see what it's like.
The Recaro seats are actually very comfortable in the EVO X... unless you are a fatass... and then the bolsters may be too tight. But it's not just me... I've had girls in my car... and they all think the seats are "so comfy".

I think the EVO MR-T would be good for you. I can't lie... the interior is not as good as a Lexus IS or Audi A4 for example... but it's good enough. And the driving experience will blow any of those cars away.

Just make sure you drive the car to make sure you like it. But here's something you should do... and it's something I did before purchasing my MR. Don't go on a test drive and just drive the car like a race car driver. Drive the car SLOWLY as if you were driving it to work or something... and see how it feels to you. If you can enjoy driving it slowly... then go ahead and purchase it. Everybody in the world will enjoy an EVO X when it's going blazing fast... so you don't need to worry about that! lol

MR T is a gr8 car to have, will keep up with most at a road course, beat quite a few in the 1/4 ..the car is safe and reliable, and it works gr8 with kids. easily fit 3 adults and two car seats in the car without even feeling the added weight! Plus the sound can drown them out also a huge bonus!!

You'll probably love it. The MR-T has a lot going for it to make it a better DD than the GSR. 95% of my driving is slow commuting in traffic and some of the cars you mentioned would be a more logical choice. However its the 5% of spirited driving that put the Evo on the top of my desired cars list.
