Check out truecar.com. My guess is invoice is around $32k and Mitsu is offering a $2k rebate, which doesn't cut into dealer's profit. So basically dealer is making however much their kickback is from Mitsu on any leftover SE. I was offered $30k plus TTL from a dealer with two SEs left. Wish I could get 0% financing to go with that.

I believe invoice on the SE is 33K, with 2K dealer incentive. There is additional Mitsubishi -> Dealer incentives to move the 2010 units (I've heard up to 4K), so realistically a starting price would be 27K with the dealer making 0$. Again, a lot depends on the dealer and if they are willing to negotiate. There aren't that many SE's left, so they have leverage.

There are NO additional Mitsubishi incentives on the 2010's other than the $2000 rebate.

Seems like Mitsubishi removed 2010 Evolution incentives from their website since last week.
I was able to get 0% for 60 months last Monday.

No dealer is going to admit additional incentives, and in fact many dealers might not be getting additional incentives at all. I think it depends on yearly volume by the dealer and other factors, but I guarantee you some dealers ARE getting additional incentives, otherwise the math doesn't work out AT ALL for some SE's going 30K and below out the door.

For a Base 2010 Evo SE the numbers are as follows:

Dealer invoice:..$33,732
Dealer markup:.....2,058
MSRP:..................35,790
Transport chg...........760
BASE MSRP:.......$36,550
+State Tax:
- Downpmt
+DMV
=Out-the-door (OTD)

(Assumes the dealer does not try to tack on any additional "processing" fees -- which are a form of markup)

Strip out the $2,058 "dealer markup" and your starting point is $34,492, before incentives and Tax.

So, with the $2000 incentive and dealer invoice price, the "OTD" price would be: $34,492-2000 = $32,492 + tax.

If your State Tax is 8%, the OTD would be: $35,091.36 (+DMV)

Is there room to negotiate a price lower than $35K -- yes. However, it may depend on variety of factors -- dealer volume, location, maybe even a bit on the color -- there were twice as many white and black SEs produced as GG or OB.

But, if you hear of someone getting an OTD price of <$30K ... well, I'd like to see a scan of THAT invoice, as I also hear of regular sightings of Sasquatch and the the lochness monster. I'm not denying the 'possibility', just like to verify it with some hard evidence. Hearsay is just that.

BTW, truecar website -- interesting... thx!

You mean you got the $2000 Mitsubishi rebate instead of 0%/60-month financing? If so, what rate did you end up getting?

Great deal nevertheless. Enjoy your SE!

correct. Instead of the 0% vs 2K, I opted for the 2k off the price. I'm not sure, but I think I went with 3.1% for 72 months.. could have gone for a shorter period, but im paying double so its really like 36 months for 3.1
