2010 Evo X SE Registry
Its only pointless if you want all the ricer bits of the MR ... some of us like subtle coupled with the performance parts. that is what the SE is. Does it deserve "Special" status, perhaps not. Frankly it should have just been a regular trim level IMO but hey, I got a nifty key ring out of the deal so what do I care.
I know I know ... I'm answering a troll. I've had a fair bit of wine tonight so my defenses are down ;-)

The se is the more affordable MR, plain and simple!
Its nothing special to you, you have a mr touring I see. So yes, an SE is nothing compared to your decked out touring edition. BUT, the only thing your touring has that my g/f's se doesnt is, sunroof and leather interior. She saved over 10k by getting an se over an MR touring. Its worth it in my book.
Your one of those guys that see Special Edition and think its something elaborate at first. Welcome to mitsu. SE is nothing crazy.

Picking up on some old threads...
Bought a Phantom Black SE last month. OTD was $35,338 (including tax, title, etc.). 1.9% for 72 months. Car itself was about $31K. Could have got it for $29K if I wanted higher financing. Down here, that is less than a 2011 non SST-gsr would have cost!
As for why an SE and not an MR - weight! All the luxury stuff adds weight and cost. Check out the Road and Track article a couple of months ago. They reported that the SE was the fastest of the three Evo models.

Should have played hardball with the dealer man. My g/f got 2.9% for the 72 months, and the $2000 rebate. They kept telling her it was low financing or the rebate. She got both lol. 2.9 is higher than 1.9, but its still dmn good. She got hers for $28400 OTD with a trade in.
Including trade ins with OTD prices is just confusing. Like some guy said he was upside down on his loan and had a 39K OTD price, and then someone comes in and says they have a 25K OTD with their trade it. If you want to give helpful information to the community, include the before tax figure for the price of the car - that is what the dealer is willing to let them go for before tax.
35 OTD after tax is a pretty good deal, considering 33K invoice.

He got the price down to like 34,xxx something, then gave her 11.6k for her trade in, she owed 5700 on it. Plus a 2000 rebate. She called me when He had called her back and said the price was 28,4xx out the door all said and done.
I guess with no trade, she would be looking at like 32,xxx OTD then. This is one with Navigation too!
She gets it tomorrow. Ill get back with the final numbers lol.

I still don't understand why Mitsu only made 340 SEs for 2010. This is the perfect model for me (and certainly for many potential Evo buyers too). I hope they pull the same trick later this year or at least before the Evo X production ends in a year or two.
Any insider know the possibility of this happening? Maybe I'm just day-dreaming...

OK. Real numbers from the "receipt:"
Cash Price of Vehicle: $32,501
This is the price of the car. It does not include taxes, misc. FL fees (dealer fee, tire fee, battery fee, etc.), etc. It is the price of the car! If we are going to compare apples to apples, I suggest that this is the number people post. Don't include trade ins - its pointless.
Incidentally, a 1% increase in the interest rate on the above number would amount to over $960.
Out.

Hence why it came out late 2010. Overall it was a success, so the 2011 MR is now somewhat the SE. A base MR no longer comes with all the comfort features like leather recaros. Still comes standard with BBS wheels, but they've changed the options list to make the SST more available to buyers who wanted it
those who haven't, go check out how you can option out an MR now - it is MUCH different from 2008/2010. You could pretty much say a base 2011 MR is an SE with BBS wheels almost
#093 checking in! Wicked white. Got home a little while ago. I am soo surprised how smooth it is on the freeway. My g/f is loving it!! Its gonna be hard for me to hang onto my 9 now.
I see there is a 093 already spoken for, whats up with that???
