Updates abound...
1) Got the car back with a brand new tranny. So far so good and it no longer sounds like an 18th century printing press.
2) Finally got my keychain (officially) from Mitsubishi - #272. Got the letter this time as well except it indicates that my car is WW. Unless I am having chromatic issues, it is clearly PB. It also begs the issue of who is #191? If you are #191, I have your keychain!
3) Looking into the dash tags. Hope to have a price in the next couple of weeks.

Picked up my new (13 miles on the ODO when I pulled into the dealership, now just shy of 150 with the drive home) Octane Blue Pearl SE yesterday. 
Loving it and cant wait until the break in is done. Taking every ounce of willpower to stay out of the throttle. Bought the car at Pearson Mitsu in Richmond VA. They had just sold a WW SE a week or so prior. This is my first Evo.

Number 287, WW. I took the key fob, split it to make it thinner and then attached it to the dash with 3M double stick tape. Mitsubishi should have made them placards to begin with but they numbered them based on when they sold instead of as they were made. What do you guys think?

I'm curious, since I know most of you all's cars are broken in motor wise, who has kept their car stock? I'm REALLY hesitant to do ANYTHING to mine for a few reasons:
1) Warranty
2) Devaluing one of the rarest Evo's that may ever be made
Have I gone full retard for harboring elicit thoughts of keeping her completely cherry?
