So my original Panasonic battery was having really weak starts in the cold temperatures. So I swapped to the Optima Red top battery that is mentioned in other threads...

Problem is - the Red top battery is smaller in every dimension than the Panasonic. So the base and the top-bracket are no longer snug against the battery like they were with the Panasonic.

I've tightened the top bracket firm enough to hold the battery securely. What did other people do when they swapped to Red Tops?

Is there somewhere I can order a bracket that's a better fit for this battery?

 

I had issues with my Panasonic and complained to the dealer and he gave me a yellow optima battery for free to swap out. It fit perfectly, except the exhaust pipe, as Optima is a sealed battery.

 

go to home depot and get a piece of mdf wood or whichever is cheapest trimmed and cut to size so it raises the battery 1/2" or 1" or how ever small the red top is.
