My friend needs a new battery can someone link me the proper Red top Optima battery? Is it part 35?

 

have him pick up a small battery kit.

 

He needs a battery now and there is an Autozone down the street that sales red tops...just need the right part #

 

Won't they give you the optima under warranty?

Another forum member got in touch with me, and the Optima that comes OEM is definitely a custom part.. Its Group 35, 700cca 90 reserve. I think it also has a vent tube, I need to read the PM again.

Edit: just checked the site and it's 35. You can also run a yellow top (part #D35)

 

So the new battery comes with a vent tube

 

So the vent tube broke when taking out the battery

 

If the battery is gel do u need to vent it

 

So we ended up getting the Yellow Cap D35 battery because they had no red caps in stock. Apparently since the Optima's are gel they don't need a vent tube.
