Your Rim and Tire warranty should cover you for that. Did you get a picture of it?

I dunno how your insurance works for you but for me my insurance company would cover me with proof AND I would be covered by the Mitsu warranty. It's not curb rash so they have to honor it. Talk to your dealer and push if you need to, thats a huge bummer man.

You can trying going after the city, but in the meantime file a claim. If anything talk with your insurance agent and see if they'll go after the city themselves. They have much deeper pockets, and most city governments would rather just pay out the claim instead of having to waste money on trials.

This comes standard?

This happened in the town where I live, Kearny. I can take pics tomorrow during the day.

Ya it does. I think when you buy the car you get 3 years or something like that without buying the extended warranty. Don't quote me on the length tho but I do know you have it. Check the brochure or whatever they stashed in your glove box with the maintenance plan and the owners manual.

As for pictures, it's more of the hole for your dealer/insurance company in case they need proof. They can be sticklers sometimes.

Good luck hope it works out for ya! There should be a break down of the conditions of your warranty in there. I'm kinda surprised your dealer didn't give you a quick overview of it when you picked it up.

I'm pretty sure it's not standard. Your car comes with a tire warranty issued by Yokohama, but that's it. The dealerships usually will sell separate wheel insurance...my dealer offerred me a 3 year plan for $300. It came out to another $8 per month on my payments. I bit... Although when I hear stories like the OP's, it makes me feel better

The tire warranty that comes from tire manufacturers is only good for defects, not road hazard.
