Goodbye Evo, I definitely won't miss you.

It's been a good 2 year run, but the day has come for me to get rid of my POS Evo, and trade it in for something far nicer. I'm headed down to the Infiniti Dealership to trade the Evo in for a brand new G37.

The Evo is fun and fast, but after two years and having to threaten to sue Mitsubishi to get them to fix my car, I hate Mitsubishi with every fiber in my body. They are a horrible company, and don't give a crap about the customer. Thousands of dollars in legal fees could have been avoided by them just fixing my car, but no.... I had to get a lawyer involved for them to bat an eye. A load of horse **** IMO.

My car still sometimes doesn't start in the morning when it's cold. It still throws a random P1235 code even though Mitsubishi did everything in their power to fix it. The steering wheel controls often do the wrong action. The paint is chipped in more places than on my old 1995 Pickup that I drive in the dirt, rocks, and snow. The Evo NEVER sees snow or dirt and has the worst paint I've ever seen on a car. The TC-SST is awesome, but its automatic mode programming was done by a complete moron who didn't know anything about driving a car in the city. I could keep going on and on, but I'll stop there.

Extremely fun car, but I can't deal with it anymore. Things are becoming a problem left and right, and with the warranty about to expire, I just don't want to have to deal with the problems that will come up. I also promised Mitsubishi that if they didn't lemon law my car, that I would never purchase another Mitsubishi vehicle ever again. I plan on keeping my word. Mitsubishi Corporate is awful.

Goodbye Evo community. It was fun while it lasted. Hope many of you have a car that is better than mine has been...

A good dealership can make or break your experience. My local dealership (Don Herring Mitsu - an EvoM sponsor) does everything in their power to fight for a customer.

First off, I partly feel that a lot of this would have been avoided had you just bought a new car. You bought your car with 5k miles on it and previously modded, I seriously doubt what you saved between a new one and that one was worth it. This is why I advise anyone to buy a high performance car like an evo brand new so they know what has been done to it. You thought you were, and got burned

I did buy mine new, and haven't had any of these issues. I clear bra'd the car when I first got it, avoiding the paint issues, to my knowledge you're the only one throwing a p1235 code randomly... plain and simple you bought a lemon.

It is unfortunate that you had to go through the means you did to sue , so I understand your frustration there. But the plain and simple fact is, if you bought a new car, the odds of all this happening get closer to zero.

I wish you luck with your new endeavors, I don't think you're going to be as satisfied with the g37 handling and power characteristics, but who knows, it may be exactly what you're looking for. Good luck

To add, this X MR is my fifth mitsubishi, I haven't had anything major go wrong with any of them. Biggest issue I've had is a input speed sensor on the OZ Rally go out. As far as I'm concerned, cars are some of the best reliability I've had.

Sorry to hear about your bad experience. I think migs summed it up pretty well. FWIW I have almost 3 years and 54,000 miles on my 08 GSR with no issues. Still on original clutch and brake pads. "your results may vary." Good luck with the Infiniti.

This is why I wouldn't buy a evo used.

Honestly not sure what you expect Mitsu to do in this situation. Many people mod the cars before the cars themselves can even reveal themselves to be lemons or not. Add to that the shady and sometimes incorrectly installed mods, and you have a recipe for disaster.

Good luck with the G37. I consider those pretty nice cars even if they aren't on the same performance level as the evo.

The G37s is a pretty fun car but is way to tail happy in rain, snow, or even a bug hitting your rear tire. I drove my brothers often before he traded it in. Sharp handling, great looks and good 4 piston front brakes but power was about even with my sportback.

Sorry about your Mitsu experience but the Evo is still a beast.
