Sorry I should have been more clear. I meant to say that it was the 1st non stick shift turbo evo in the states and there could be issues due to the 08 MR SST being the first version of its kind for us.

I'm usually weary of buying Rev A products. I waited until mid 09 before I bought my 08. There was next to no reported issues with the SST after being out a year in the states. I'm actually shocked it has done as well as it has. I honestly expected more failures. My only gripe is the price, I really wish it would come down.

Yes you are actually right.
The EVo meant to be for those who going for at least occasionally for the race track. But more for those who race them .
Lets face it, the EVo is not economical car by anymeans out side of racing. Everything has its own purpose. Like the Infinty and the Evo too.

This car is not for DD, as much as you guys bealive it or try to make that case or your beloved dealer. It is not good even for car show.

Evo is an "ugly" 4 door sedan which meant to be driven for thrill, not to chill.

that is his point.

+1 , my x is my 5th mitsubishi one mitsubishi was a lemon and they took care of it for me within 9 months. went from EVO 8 to E46 M3 and I hated every second of it, the only thing good about that M3 was the bling bling aspect. back to my X and I couldn't be happier.

My dealership has always taken care of me, had a 98 eclipse transmission blew, had mods done and they still replaced it with a brand new one.

G37 = sexy

good luck

This is why I advise anyone to buy a high performance car like an evo brand new so they know what has been done to it. You thought you were, and got burned

I did buy mine new, and haven't had any of these issues. I clear bra'd the car when I first got it, avoiding the paint issues, to my knowledge you're the only one throwing a p1235 code randomly... plain and simple you bought a lemon.

It is unfortunate that you had to go through the means you did to sue , so I understand your frustration there. But the plain and simple fact is, if you bought a new car, the odds of all this happening get closer to zero.

I wish you luck with your new endeavors, I don't think you're going to be as satisfied with the g37 handling and power characteristics, but who knows, it may be exactly what you're looking for. Good luck

To add, this X MR is my fifth mitsubishi, I haven't had anything major go wrong with any of them. Biggest issue I've had is a input speed sensor on the OZ Rally go out. As far as I'm concerned, cars are some of the best reliability I've had.

So if I drive it more than once a week, I am "misusing" it? Maybe I like every trip I make to be a thrill, not a "chill". Maybe after working my *** off until age 40, I want to make up for 20 years of driving econoboxes and SUV's and drive something that I ALWAYS ENJOY BEING BEHIND THE WHEEL OF.
Evos were meant to be enjoyed, by those who can appreciate them. I do. So you can suck it. How about that?

50k same brake pads. You can have the same joy in a parking lot without the horrible gas mileage.

The "joy" is very personal preference. Some people like to have sex in the dark so they don't see each other.
He likes to drive a car out of boost.
Kind a same doesn't it ?

Sorry to hear about your troubles. It sounds like the previous owner had screwed it up and just traded it in, and/ or it had some lemon problems.

Too bad too. I have had my MR Touring for over a year now: ZERO problems so far.

Good luck with your new purchase: be sure to post up some pics! The G37 is a nice car, I test drove one for a business trip, but definitely more luxury than performance. Buena suerte!
