I bought my Evo brand new, and had a similar experience as the OP. Mitsu does not take care of its customers. And like someone else said, its mostly the dealership, but still the reason I bought the car was for the warranty (sure we all know mistu warranty sucks, but when it is an obvious manufacturing defect, and they still don't stand behind thier product - that sucks).

G37 enjoy blowing rear diffs at Bolton level performance. Bye
Hey, at least Infiniti will prob warranty it unlike Mitsu

I would steer clear of all 07+ nissan / infinity cars. I come from a Nissan Background i have been modifying and toying with them all my life. all the newer nissans have too many problems if you plan to have fun with the car.

to start off if you get a manual you will have Slave Cylinder problems (Concentric Slave Cylinder) Meaning you have to drop the trans to get to it or to get it out.

the G37 and 370Z Also have sensitive oil cooling problems. so if you do any hard driving or stop and go traffic in hot weather oil temp goes through the roof and car goes on limp mode

Auto Trans are garbage

6 speed trans is really nice just don't rev past 8K or Slam gears you will break it. (along side with launching or clutch kicking)

and the list goes on and On. me and about 6 other friends just got rid of our new nissan / infinity cars.

I personally am Picking up an Evo X tomorrow brand new. i would look elsewhere if you are planning to get a brand new car. the new Mustang, Camaro, Corvette, are all far better cars for the money.

My dealership took care of me after i bought a used MR and the tranny blew 30 miles after i left the lot. They took the car back and gave me a 2010 GSR brand new for under invoice

Agreed with the folks that caution against buying a used performance vehicle. You just never now how the previous owner cared for the car and when you couple that with the infamous Mitsubishi Warranty you're just asking for trouble. Good luck with the Infiniti.

Here we go with everyone taking sides regarding cars they have absolutely zero financial stake with (to the enjoyment of Mitsubishi, Nissan, etc).

Is the OP really at fault for buying an Evo with 6,000 miles on it? It was a lemon, but definitely not a bad tactic. Some members on here WISH they could afford a slightly used Evo but instead purchased used ones with tens of thousands of miles on it. NO CAR should have severe problems with only 6000 miles on it. NO CAR.

However, the OP is also trying to make himself feel better and giving what is hopefully a real goodbye. Dude, no one cares you're "leaving" the board. This is the internet. You'll be trolling around when you see your G37 driven by every mom, daughter, sorority girl and grandma on the block. Nice looking cars but neutered in many ways.

TO OP: sux u had a bad experience with ur mitsu, i am on mitsu car #2 and haven't had nothing but mostly solid reliability. minsu my evo having its ignition switch go bad (i think it was my fault mostly because of the stupid alarm ignition cut off).

Good luck with the G37, personally i think nissan flipped it this time. 350<G35, 370>G37 in the looks dept.

I'm in construction service business for the past 25 years. If my company installed a complete kitchen we give a full one year warranty on labor. If the homeowner decides to remove, relocate or do any modifications from my original install my warranty is null and void. The homeowner can try to sue me but I will prevail unless our original labor wasn't industry standard. Never happened.

Gl with the new ride.
