JDM front crash beam

Has anyone bought the JDM crash beam and installed a functional tow hook that way? It seems to be 'common knowledge' that it works but I haven't run across anyone that has actually done it.

theSin on the other forum bought the beam but hasn't found a tow hook that works. A rep from japanparts says that they've sold quite a few to North America, so somebody has them.

The 8 and X are different as far as bumpers and crash beams go. The DIY solutions that I've seen for the X didn't look too sturdy and the others took some tig welding skills that most people don't have. The JDM crash beams are already threaded.
