Threw a CODE help!

Hey guys! so to make a long story short, i was running stage 2 on my Cobb AP, but i sold it to a member on here, and now I'm driving the car without the boost pill and with my other mods. From doing research on here, i came to the conclusion that i can drive my car with the current set up (no tune) as long as i stay away from boost and WOT. So after selling the AP and driving for about 30 min the "service engine soon" light came one. keep in mind that i was cruising the entire way home and kept it under 10psi the entire way. Should i be concerned? I'm getting tuned Monday but still have to get to work. Also do you guys think they can clear the code when they tune it? or do i have to go to the dealership to get the code cleared? Thanks, any input will help.

Try to stay out of boost until you get your tune. Anybody with an OBD II scanner can clear the code. It doesn't mean they fixed it--it's just a reset of the code for our convenience. NEVER go to the dealership if your car throws a code. They will record it and use it as a reason to deny your warranty (which they probably will anyway because of your mods).

Go to Auto Zone or Advance Auto Parts to use their OBD II scanner to see what code you are throwing. From the mods in your sig, its a good chance its a P0420, which is the O2 sensor. But stay out of boost until you are tuned.

gotcha, def will stay out of the dealership on this one. Even though totowa mitsu are mod friendly, i wont take the chance. you never really know how they will handle it.

So basically even though the "service engine soon" light is on i can drive the car as long as i stay out of boost. Am i running the risk of blowing my engine from either running lean or rich?

Last I checked with Auto Zone they do not/cannot scan codes anymore. Regulations may vary depending on your state but they claimed they are no longer allowed to do so.

You run less risk by staying out of boost. Just get the tune ASAP and have them check the code.
