Now factor in you are driving a performance oriented turbocharged awd car optimized for speed instead of mileage ...
You're also missing two other big factors: The gearing and the weight. Which most people recognize pretty easily between the two... The other big thing: aerodynamics. Like it or not your Evo does not cut through the air like the z06.

I got better mileage in my Porsche than the Evo and the STi everywhere, but the most noticeable was on the track. Your little turbo has to have a lot of fuel going in with all that air to make your little 2.0l motor have 290hp and then add the weight and wind. Gut the Evo to weigh the same as the Vette and I'll bet they are quite a bit closer.

Read your manual. Are you sure yours is a 2011 SE? Either way you should have this. Just wondering cause I didn't think there were 2011 SE's.

I am not, man. When I saw the read out, I thought I was seeing things and started doubting the AP. Thought my ECU was jacked up. It actually showed me 37 for a little while. I bought a Cobb AP and installed the economy tune. Before, I was getting around 12 - 14 MPG going to work and some times 22 on the highway (if I floored it sometimes). When I step into it, it goes down to around 8-14 back and forth to work and around 6-10 on the highway.
With the AP, I set it at 70 MPH and I saw 33. It actually was at 37 then trickled down to 33. When I first saw it, I did not believe it and had to do a double take. This weekend, I will be going on a road trip to Essen which is over 320 miles and see what it says. I honestly find it hard to believe and do hope that the Cobb AP didn't screw up my ECU. I am planning on writing to Cobb and ask them what their take is on this.

Wow 37 is pretty crazy, I got up to 26 over the weekend on a trip from Reno around Lake Tahoe and back into Reno and I thought that was impressive especially since my foot wasn't exactly in gas saving mode.
