picked up the evo today... unfortunately due to some financial changes i had to settle for the one with just the Navi and no SS or SL... i worked a deal with mitsu to install leather later on and going with a custom sound system and aftermarket HIDs... i wouldn't have minded the sunroof but my last evo x didn't have it and my BMW has one so i'm not that phased by it... more threads and pictures to come within the next few days

I am anti-sunroof on Evos, even though my 2003 had one when they all had steel roofs. When they switched to aluminum roofs later on, it drove the point home in my mind that a sunroof is extra weight in the worst place possible. I probably also lean that way because I very rarely used it and found it unnecessary.

I have the sunroof and leather package. I adore it. it's well worth it. The only issue is that over time of course the leather will get worn as a pose to the normal cloth seats. Summer times proves hard for leather seats, but evens out with having a sunroof... bottom line. Get it.

I wish my Evo had a sunroof. It felt like a downgrade since my previous car had a sunroof. The added weight isn't too much either. If you're worried about added weight, you should worry about cutting back on fatty foods and slim down. Regardless, I agree... an Evo is still an Evo.

LOL wish I would have gotten me this one at Coastal FULLY effing loaded (TB) for 36,400 but they were giving me a horrible APR so I had to skip on that plus didn't want to pay as much for my trade in... but it was a TB GSR with leather, sunroof, navi, aluminum kit, aero package, HIDs and F.A.S.T...

oh I would've gone all out on that for sure... if it wan't for the stealership/bank trying to nail me that is

congrats on the purchase!!!

Added weight is 80lbs. You aren't going to cut that out with a diet.

oh no 80lbs on a 3585lb car, who the **** cares, the sl and ss package are definitely well worth the added weight if its a car you drive all the time, if its a designated track car only, then sure bone dry evo with no packages is what youd want

80lbs on the top of the car is a BIG deal. It completely changes the center of gravity. IMO, why buy a performance car like an Evo if you want luxury. Might as well bought a BMW, Audi or Infiniti.

There are guys that would give anything to lose just a few lbs in the roof, which is why time attack cars have $2k carbon fiber roofs just to shed a few lbs. It makes a very big difference in handling.

I think it's around 45lbs for the sunroof + leather ..

Check out the weight difference between the MR Touring and MR from 2010

Basically MR-T is 30lbs heavier than MR, from a thread on evoxforms, ppl comes up with:

-15 lbs from the difference in spoilers and +45 lbs in sunroof and leather and heaters for the seats and side mirrors...

Something isn't right there. I've held a sunroof, had one out of an evo, they are about 65lbs, plus going from aluminum roof to steel roof adds weight as well.

hey chill bros lol

Although I wanted a Sunroof on my Evo, the new Elantra we just got has a sunroof, the 2011 Eclipse we just got rid of hit had a sunroof... I mean, I guess I grew old of them already lol...

Plus I kinda like the braggin-rights of owning a car with an aluminum roof lol
