2011 evo x question/concern
Ok so i was driving my x to work today and i looked down and noticed that the dash said 4wd needs service. The car has 3500 miles on it. When i shut the car off, and turned it back on, and drove it home at the end of the day the message was gone, and didnt come back on. Anyone one have any ideas? thanks..
Also check your battery voltage while its running I know its new but if the battery is getting low it could cause the 4wd, abs, eng ser and all the other warning lights to go on. I only know this from experience when i got my MR, it did it for thr first day I had it, it was the battery it was going bad from sitting in th lot not being driven.
Not so sure I'd head for the dealer just yet.
When I had my Mustang, I had it parked at the top of a parking garage all day, one very hot day. When I got back to the car, the AdvanceTrac (Ford's much less advanced ver of Mitsu's ASC) was flashing just like you describe. I planned to go to the dealer, and headed that way but I wanted to stop for a drink first. When I came back out to the car at the convenience store and started up, the car was fine and I never had another problem.
Computers (and the X has lots of computer power) glitch sometimes. I'd wait to see if the 4WD warning lights again before going to the dealer unless the car's driving funny or feels weird.

Yeah, definitely keep an eye on it... if you don't have any reason to worry about going to the dealer (tune/mods) then I would think taking it to them to have it documented might not be bad.
I was thinking the same thing that the heat was what did it. The car did not drive weird at all, and i drove the car all day today, and the light has not come back on. Hmm maybe ill hold off to see if the light comes back on.
Im not going to get tuned anytime soon still got lots of parts to get. lol

My 4wd service light kept popping up and i pulled the code - turned out to be the acd pump. Dealer replacing whole unit.. the cost is $3.5k! LOL good thing it was covered under warranty. Only 23k miles on it.
