10mpg is horrible should be getting more

 

Are u driving it like u stole it or something i easily get over 200 miles a tank and over 20mpg even when im beating on her. Still on stock 2011 tune too. 10mpg is retarded something cant be right

 

Just got back from dealer again (complaint car gets 10 mpg or lower) ... there correction... scan system no dtc's vech running to spec.....told me to give it time also the car had problem starting few times i told them .dealer did a test to battery every thing normal sorry to say this car is not normal its retarded...also i installed a boost gauge a few days ago i get max boost of 21

 

I get 200 to the tank (high 12's to 13 gallons) used up.

 

21 max boost is the set stock amount I believe. So thats correct.

 

WTH, it's not running rich? I don't think the dealer can detect it running rich if the primary 02 is damaged. Hook it up to external AFR sensor!

 

I have a 2011 MR with 3000 ( exactly ) on it. and i have been getting... 10 MPG, STOCK, no intake no exhaust nothin.. just stock.. I threw inmy wide band and in boost at 19lbs ( i think that is what stock is) with spikes of 23.5 ints running 10:1 on the AFR.... so im thinking for us it is a tuning thing? maybe a breakin type thing?

 

Racerx, how do you drive it? In manual / auto? What mode? (sport, normal, super sport)? This is really interesting to me, as I know it's not normal, and it's been an issue. Do you run 91/92/93?

 

i called mitsu corporate at 1888 648 7820 and i now have a case open .there is no way our 2011 mr should get 10 mpg i have a buick gn with a gt65 turbo 50lbs injectors and boost at 27 psi and ton other mods and thats a 24 year old car that get better mpg... there are a lot of good guys on this site that say its BS that know lot more about evo's then i and i take there word over the dealer any day....

thanks migs i was so upset with the mpg thing i took the evo out for a mad beat run just got back. in S-sport mode for an hour hit red line on every shift hit over 120 mph reving the crap out of it an for this hour on the race track the mpg got better i **** you not the nav computer said 11.5 mpg this is crazy also i smelled burning smell open hood my turbo was glowing bright red took an IF reading with my lazer therm but it was well over 1000 f it that normal

 

Well for about 2k miles the car is going to have a weird break-in smell. That's normal.

How did you see the Turbo with the metal sheet over it? Was the sheet glowing too?

 

The mitsu rep called me today and said the same crap the motor will break in at around 3000 miles i told him other people get better mpg he also said the state i live in and the temp is a factor at this point i am lost

 

How hot is it there? How many miles do you have on the car?

 

I got about 1600 miles now and its about 80/
90 in and around boston i know its bs what he said but what can i do
