just bought a 2008 mr with 8000 miles on it in off the showroom condition and the guy i bought it from had a hks vta bov set up on the car that was maing it run like s@#$. thank god he kept all the oem parts, after 20 min of work the car now runs great!

also if any one wants to buy a evo x hks bov set for the evo x i have one for sale!

still not sure why people buy these things, no go and sounds like rice!

 

How exactly was the car running bad?
And I have a feeling he didn't get a tune for VTA.

 

the car would flutter and no he never had the car tuned! next stop works, for a tune and a couple other parts.

 

Most people have the HKS BOV recirculated.

 

must run a rec. bov or will run like trash i had a hks for a while both vta and rec. night and day diffrence rec. all the way

 

I see your from chico you should go hit up Jay at Boostedtuning for a tune guy knows his **** real good hes tuned my car a few times now and iv always been happy.

 

Little flutter doesn't matter, it's still opening. HKS is a great BOV its what I run too. I had Turbosmart, Greddy, etc. They all suck. Even the factory one flutters your just don't hear it as loud.

VTA and no tune= run like crap.

get a tune or recirc it and you will be fine.

i run a cobb in hybrid mode. i like it a lot.

 

Its not a problem with the parts. Any part can perform poorly if it is not installed correctly. That being said, the stock BOV is a good piece.
