C6 Corvette to Evo X?
I came to the Evo X from my 05 Vette. Biggest reasons were the practicality of 4 doors, 4 wheel drive, and not having to come to a full stop on even the smallest of speed bumps. Let alone being able to get in driveways etc.
I dont think you'll regret going to an X. I used to say "its no Vette", but you can always make the argument that the vette is "no Evo X". Handling on the X definitely feels better IMO, and being able to drive year round is priceless.
Your call though man

I've already had an evo so i know how great they are, i'm just worried i'll be disappointed with the loss of power. From what i've seen they are a few bolt ons from keeping up to my vette. And being in Minnesota E85 is everywhere!
Another issue i had with my VIII is the lack or cruise and crazy rough ride. My wife would hardly ride in it, it made her sick. Also issues i think they fixed with the X. My wife is going to kill me for wanting a different car after 3 months, LOL

Make a pros and cons list for each one and see which one outways the other.
I don't understand the attraction some people have to the newer vettes. I can understand a love affair with the 60's cars (LOVE them) but these newer ones do absolutely nothing for me, highly overrated. I drove my buddy's several times and the only thing going for it was the ladies turning their heads.
Buy a used X and put $2500-$3500 into a turbo, tune, and supporting mods. That should get you around 400-500 whp, and a better looking/performing car IMO.

I had my C6 and Evo X at the same time for a little while. Evo X is heavily modded... Vette had longtubes, exhaust, intake. Evo would eat its lunch power wise... however the vette was a lot nicer to go on a road trip in. Got rid of the vette for a 2010 Tacoma Double Cab 4x4.... didnt see any reason to have two go fast toys without a warranty.

Your X didnt and wont

Dump the C6 and get the X, slap on a bigger turbo kit and call it a day.

The thing will also make 450 whp with headers and a cam, we're talking about 2k in parts. The evo won't be doing that any time soon. Its really a trade off, i'm still going to try to drive one soon.
Pics of said vette...

I tried going to a rwd, a 11 gt500 svt recaro and navi. I found a couple used ones for less than 50k (46-48). A brand new one is 59k.... Less than 3000 miles and there goes 10k on price. It didnt make sense to me. Vetts depreciate a lot as well. That could be another thing to keep in mind. Financial future crap aside, Evo is extremely fun. You can get your groceries or do zig zags, take turns that are suggested 30 doing 60-70. Its really the ultimate ride for me. Evo is really the only reason why I dont have 2 cars. It pretty much does it all.
As for the looks... Vetts are overrated in my opinion. There are more vetts where I live than there is weed in amsterdam. Slap on some rims, get lowering springs, some CF lips and canards on front bumper and the EVO makes the vett look like a 80 year old pornstar. (i havent done those just yet btw. I will in the future though. I saved up for actually mods first which I will be ordering very soon, waiting for the bank to confirm releasing 5 grand in a day lol)
And tbh, either upgrade the vett so you wont think about getting rid of it and grab a beater for the winter OR get the evo and make it do whatever you want it. Its all about the money and effort

They are good cars. Comfortable for long trips and no offense but 95% of the people out there will tell you the vette looks better. That isn't really a sticking point for me but thats how most people feel.

Haha, it is a nice ride for sure. I also am willing to bet it doesn't have a 400 hp mill that can get 30 mpg on the highway with nav, heated seats ect. They are pretty to look at but from a driver's point of view the new one absolutely murder them in almost every category.
lol, you don't have to sell me on the evo, i loved mine. Just about every one i know thought my VIII was ugly and gave me crap for the wing though, haha. Of course i am on an evo site so i suppose the responses will be a bit biased.
