Center Display Service menu Reminder
Center Display Service menu Reminder
I accidentally reset my service reminder on my new evo x. It was at 5k, now it is scheduled for 10k. I know how to continue to clear and reset them, but is there a way I can reset it back to the 5k without it jumping up to 15k next? It's obviously not crucial, and isn't going to change when I actually do maintenance. I would just like it to be correct again, heh. There is less than 500 miles on the car currently.
I think you can look in the manual for that. I also remember seeing a thread on here but I can't remember which thread it was. I'm sure a quick search will yield the answers you are looking for.
Just follow the instructions listed here, under "how to set the schedule", pick a different schedule, then do it again - this time selecting your original setting. It's a total pita, but it should work..

Wow thank you! That was the kind of post I was looking for but couldn't seem to find. I knew there had to be a way but after looking through the manual I highly doubted it would be something published for the owner. I'll try it when i get home. It definitely does look like a total pita though
Got a really big "Huh?"
2010 Evo X SE
When it hit 3000 mi, I changed the oil and set the schedule interval (via the info button) to NAS 11 (3 mo./ 3,750 mi). Hit the 3 month mark way before the mileage, so I changed the oil at 4,732 miles. Hit reset and now it is telling me the next change is in 4 months and 6,600 miles. New math or what?
How do I get this thing to work? I can reset it and change the NAS, but it still can't add.
Thoughts?
Thanks

Ya, it definitely does some kinda new math, and there's not really much you can do about it other than resetting the stupid schedule each time.
Since my 1st reset of the schedule, I've only been doing the regular reset afterwards and it's been kinda close, but still a little off in it's calculations. I think what it's trying to do is take your remaining months & miles not used in the last periods, and combine them with the new remaining months & miles given for the new period.. I think.
So say it's brand new 1/1/2011 and set for 5-month/5,000-mi - and on 5/1/11 you've only driven 3,000 miles and reset it - that should leave you with 7,000 miles and another 5 months til next service.
Seems like this is what it's trying to calculate, but it doesn't even do that 100% right.. I'm guessing there's also some sort of leeway stuck in there, so that it'll warn you a week or two (or a few hundred miles) before you're actually due for service. Who knows, lol.
ETA: Also.. I keep my correct next service date / mileage written down, cuz I just don't trust the stupid thing =)
