Yeah

Yeah because the ecu needs to sense the new changes in the sensors and remap it's self. I think that's it........ too

Only time I've reset the ECU is when I installed my intake. And for that matter, I don't it's necessary for any other bolt on mods. The intake on the other hand will change the amount of air flow and the amount of air being counted, so the ECU needs to be reset to get used to the increase.

yeah intake will make a big diffrence with the ecu reset because it can set the fuel/air mixture for better performance, intake is deffinately something you should reset you ecu for after adjusting.

Definitely. The RMR intake even has it on the directions to disconnect the battery and then let your car run idle for about 10 minutes after finishing install so the ECU gets used to the new air readings.

Remember too, let it stand for about 15 minuets without power, then let her idle down...it will jump up to about 3 and a half grand..

what is the exact way to reset the ecu again? i was thinking it was just leave the battery unplugged but i remebered there is letting it idle too, because i just installed a kamakazi header and i had the ecu unplugged the whole time i was working on installing it and then plugged it back in but it does seem like its idleing kind of rough now.

thanks

That could just be the header, i don't know.... anyway here is how to reset the ecu..
1. Disconnect the positive batter lead from the battery.
2. Not necessary, but drain the power from the car by pressing the brakes untill the lights don't work.
3. Have a beer or two. ie wait for about 15 min.
4. Reconnect the battery terminals.
5. Start the car.
6. Let the car idle for a few mins. untill it's stable.
7. Enjoy, burn some rubber.

Disconnecting the battery for a few minutes will reset the ECU. Then let it run idle for about 10-15 minutes so it gets used to the new readings. Maybe that'll help with your rough idle.
