Brake warning light...

Ok, ive noticed that everytime i go into a corner, especially when making a left turn at a decent speed my warining light comes on. It the one with the exclamation point and parentheses (!)...i looked it up in my manual and it says check brake fluid. Ive checked the brake fluid and everything is good..ive made an appt with the dealer but wanted to know if anyone else has had this problem.

your brake fluid is most likely on minimum. eventually the light will be on all the time as your brake pads wear further. i would get the pads checked to see where they are at. that light is a warning but sometimes the fluid is a little low from the factory.

Your brake fluid could be sloshing causing it to trigger the light when turning. It still means that the fluid is at or near the low mark and either you have a leak in the system or pads are getting low.

I would bet more than likely the pads are low rather than a leak in the system. You can always check the brake resevoir.

Same thing happened to me, it IS an indicator that your brake fluid is low. Top it off! Problem solved.

The problem is not solved only bandaid. If the low fluid indicator light is on something is wrong.

your fluid goes down as your pads wear. you get the indicator when youre pads are past halfway done...

trust me

add some fluid, and know that new pads are not far behind

with 50k miles on my car, ive been through this a few times

well the thing is if the fluid is slightly below full this happens because on braking or hard acceleration the fluids movement exposes the censor enough...

even if it looks full add more fluid.

your pads should probably be good for a few more thousand miles. id say they probably have about 40% life left. thats pretty much how its been everytime its happened to me.

which as of yesterday is my third time.

Don't go through a dealership for new pads, they over charge like crazy... if you're looking for less performance pads along with less brake dust and squeaking, you should check out some silicon pads...

I know this is an old thread but, I'm glad I found this...I've been running arcoss the same issue. Now my brake light is staying on and I've got no e-brake or brakes pushed. If I push the brakes the BRAKE light goes away. I guess I'm going to have to buy brakes...only @ 32,000 miles

for zie community Fluid might be just fine but not the pads. I recently noticed it's been taking me a bit more distance to stop so I had my pads checked and they were at 4mm instead of 10mm. I didnt replace them yet but I will replace them in 2 weeks as I will gain at least 100 whp/wtq this saturday lol. Not sure if I will go with the "factory" pads though.
