Brake light wont go off!

hey guys recently ive been having problems with my e-brake light on my gauge cluster not turning off, it goes away sometimes but than pops back on every time i shift and sometimes it will just stay on for miles. Its starting to annoy me any ideas what it might be? i was gonna top off my brake fluid and see if that helps

possibly low brake fluid due to low brake pads. try checking that area

+1 on that. i know when replacing brake components such as lines and then you have to bleed the lines the brake light may remain on till most of ur air is out and fluid is filled up.

what triggers the e-brake light on the dash is a switch on the e-brake lever assy. ....under the handle under the console..... probly spilled something in there or just gummed up ...... take the screws out of the bottom of the little box and cup holders and shift boot and I think you can lift it up enough..... to check the switch and clean it..

Low brake fluid or possibly air in the lines would be my guess

I think you need new brake pads.

That light actually does double duty. Its either the switch from the handbrake or brake fluid is low. 99.9% of the time its the brake fluid.
