That is because (in my opinion) torque is the real deal when it comes to evos. It is a tamed "rally" car and HP in rally doesnt mean jack, it is all about torque plus I will take torque over HP anyday.

If you wish to choose HP over torque because you dont want to change internals of the engine or other parts that really is a personal opinion and I wont judge it by any means. I will always want more torque than HP which is what I have and will have once I complete stage 3

also, to add further, OP what is the goal of this build? having 450 whp is great and all but depending on application, the way you get there or even needing that much can change greatly.

The stock clutch packs are good till 370/380 then there is a high risk of them breaking so you have to go with SSP's clutches and I would suggest you to go with 600 or at least 500s package. Why 600? Well, better be safe than sorry. FP green will get you there with E85 but if you want it on pump you might consider FP black, FP red might get you there but it will be a hassle trying to squeeze all the power out of the mods. My philosophy is that if you can push lets say 450 with your current mods, I will want to be sitting at 430 for not pushing the car. To reach 450 price wise you are looking at 18 grandish with labor if you are bone stock.
none taken man, just stating so that no one gets the wrong idea of me being a newb . Yea I always think its not overdoing it, its being prepared .

Goal is going to be a show car with power. All our friends around us are shop owners, One has a LS7 FD Rx-7 500/500, Other is a ASM SuperCharged S2k 370rwhp, 335i pushing around 460Rwhp, Evo IX with 324awhp, Evo IX with 360rwhp, Another Galant vr4 making 340ish awhp. So right now we are all just trying to compete for high numbers Straight line. All these cars make those power numbers on 91 **** gastane.

blah blah blah...keeping up with the Jone's

meh bragging rights are an acceptable reason to want a specific number. You said show car, so it's likely you're going to end up doing everything anyhow. fuel rail, and regulator, crazy exhaust manifold, go big on the FMIC, get bling with the IC piping, etc. If you choose a non-mustang dyno and a good tuner, you can get the numbers you want, and because of the show car part you'll likely end up with more upgrades than you need for that sort of power.

Good luck! Keep us updated on the build!

i want to keep it as under the radar under the hood as possible. Out side body weve already decided to go crazy sized wheels, and some type of kit. Repaint and all that so we are good there. The motor and drivetrain itself is the most important part now.
