How much tint? Post your pictures!

Was looking into tinting my windows, but haven't done it before, and not sure how much is a good amount for an Evo. I live in Illinois, so I'm pretty sure the law is at least 35% light for back and sides, and almost nothing up front.

If you guys wouldn't mind posting pictures of your car with tint and how much you have that would be really helpful.

Thanks!

BTW I have a OB X, so the more OB the better!

I will be getting 35% done in the near future, that's the legal limit for Maryland. I've had 5% limo tint on cars before, then went with 20% mirrored, then 35% legal. I think it will look just fine, edIT. Color DOES seem to affect how it appears from the outside. Keep in mind, at night and in bad weather the darker it is the more difficult it will be to see OUT. With 35 you will be fine.

This level of tint is very dark. Verify with your local authorities the legal limits of your state/county. (<-- necessary Disclaimer)

15% on all rear windows, and 28.5% on the fronts.

I have 20%. 35% is legal here in GA, but I've never been pulled over for it. I have been pulled over for other stuff but cops never mention the tint. I used to have 35% on my other car and I always wished it was darker. 20 is perfect for me. Here's a couple pics.

O, and I have a strip across the top of the windshield. That's 4%. Helps a good bit with the sun being in my eyes. Lol

This is nice info/visuals. I can't go darker than 35% up front, but as long as I preserve my passenger sideview mirror, I can go darker in the rear. I've seen people with the sun strip on the windshield, but I'm not sure whether that is actually legal. (California)

You might double check that. The law in Illinois changed in 2009. 35% all around is now allowed. ...or 50% or darker on rears only. Don't know if it's different in the city, but here's the link to the state law:

I have 45% . It's the perfect tint for backing up so you can see out your review mirror. It goes great with the dark interior as well. Also click on the thumbnail to see your states law on window tint.
