Learning what I bought...

So now that I am approaching having the GSR long enough to actually make a payment on it, about a week left, I decided it was time to get under it and see what was actually installed on it. Also on a side note I've now been driving the car for a few weeks and still have not seen another Evo in town.

The exhaust is GReddy TiC, but it looks like it had a 3" cat added to it and is piped 3" all the way up to what looks like the factory 02 housing.

The intake is AEM, but doesn't have the box, so just the short tube and filter. Works fine for my tasted but I'll have to build a bracket to hold it in place cause its just bouncing around in there.

Other than that, looks all stock...think I'll throw in some new spark plugs just because I don't know how long these ones have been in there.

I'm pretty sure its the AEM intake parts, if you look at their full kit, the tube looks pretty much the same.

Definitey doesn't look like the UR stuff in their pics. I think they just had a cat welded into the GReddy stuff really.

Yea I think that's what you got. The Greddy downpipe doesn't have a O2 housing made to it. The think that I wonder about is that it looks like it is a 1-piece cat+dp. I don't know if he had it made like that or what. I guess you could weld them together..

From the looks of it, it appears they modified the GReddy pipe, added a cat, and welded it in. Definitely looks shop made, its the only part of it that has mig welds instead of tig.

Make sure you are tuned correctly before something blows.

I'm not too worried about blowing it up, it runs pig rich right now. I'm going to buy up a couple things before I run it up to English Racing.

It is aggressive sounding, little louder than I would like but not bad.

Does it drone at highway speed or anything?

I'm not really a fan of single exit exhausts, but I think it looks good

Wasn't much of a choice since it came already on the car.

Anyhow, I don't want to do too much to this car, I did buy an additional 3yr/36K mile warranty on drivetrain...so that part is nice.

I do think I'll be adding the following around tax time

1. Grimmspeed 3 port

2. GSC S1 or S2 cams (springs & retainers with the S2)

3. English Racing Tune

4. Wheels, undecided on what yet...but kinda like...

(no red lip)

Somewhere in there I want to do some gauges too.
