+1 on this. Keep the 08, and spend/save the money for something else that will make you happier. The differences you talk about are extremely minor compared to the cost difference.

1) maybe you need to spend some money and go back to school. Take an English class and learn how to use " , " and " . "

2) I suggested maybe the Evo isn't your best choice of car since all you want is seat warmers, leather, automatic mirrors, sunroof... in that case any 30k luxury car will top an Evo.. you are asking a forum how you should spend your life saving on a car... here's how i think you should spend it.. buy a lexus and call it a day. waste of Evo..

 

~2years ago, my stock car was also hit by a reckless driver. The damage was similar to yours but it was on the driver's side. Even after everything was replaced with OEM parts, it still bothered me that it's been in an accident. Probably similar to what you're feeling now. I posted it on craigslist, received many ridiculous offers, and finally decided to keep it. During the 60k service, I decided to mod away and I now more in love with my evo.

ZERO monthly payment is the best feeling in the world and you're almost there. After paying it off, spend ~3k in power mods. That's when you will realize what the evo is all about.

I completed all of my college general education classes whilst in high school and now I am ranked #1 in most of my college classes. One day I'll probably end up saving your life. Look at the crowd the Evo is starting to suit more now-a-days. People who want a fast sports car, that’s comfortable to drive daily. It's my daily so why wouldn't I want to have the comfort that can be provided with the Evo? Whoever said a sports car can’t be luxurious? I wan’t an Evo done my way, what's wrong with that? I was asking people on this forum for advice (pro’s and con’s) regarding my choices and my situation, hell that’s what I thought forums were for. I’m not obliged to go with what the people on here vote for but I’ll consider any comments that they make. By the way I’m not spending my “life savings” on this car, that’d be stupid. I saved money on a separate account for this car and kept necessities above materialistic wealth. If I wanted a Lexus I would have bought one, it’s quite obvious that I want an Evo since I’m pondering on whether to keep an EVO or BUY a NEW EVO. Well would you look at that, it’s either an Evo or an Evo for me. At this point don’t even mention how you think I should spend my money because you obviously don’t understand the situation I’m in. Also, my car isn’t a “waste of evo” (should be waste of AN evo), this long *** response to you is a “waste of time”.


FINALLY! Someone that understands me. The whole accident/damage to my car definitely bothers me still. I'm convinced that I'll get over it once I finally start to do work on the car. I have a lot planned for it now that I know the direction I'm going towards and since I made the choice of keeping it. Many people on craigslist offered me $20k for it when I already put on the post that the dealership was already willing to give me $22.8k for it (now went up to $25k). I was like seriously, why would I low ball myself haha

Hey, I was in a similar boat as you. I bought a new 2008 when they came out. 3 years later I bought the 11, new. I did mine becuase the inerest rate made it very attractive..blah blah...The 11 is much nicer than the 08. I got the same exact car, MR-premium pack, even the same color. I am sure the 12 is more like the 11 than the 08. I was going to write a thread comparing the two, but not sure if anyone would care.

I feel you, but I would keep the '08 and put the money towards modding it. Only you can make that decision though.

It has been said, but like you I have an 08 I bought used back in October. After buying it I pondered about all the other cool things the new ones have, like the heated seats, the usb and such. After thinking about I realized that little by little I can get that. But the biggest thing I want is to put some power into mine, exhaust, headers, a tune and a billion other things. The luxuries are nice but not nicer than having a car paid off. Paint the car another color if the color is bumming you. I know you already got to this conclusion but keeping is what I would do.
