Help me decide... keep my 08' or get a 12'
Alright guys I need opinions. I have a 2008 rally red evo x sss package. bought it used in july 2011 with 32,500 miles and have only put 2500 miles on it, but now i want a white one. i saw a white evo in person for the first time and it was pure sexiness. I've recently posted my car for sale on craigslist :

but i just can't decide whether i should keep it or sell it.
I’m stuck debating whether I should suck it up, take a loss on my evo and buy a brand new 2012 evo in white and eventually do work on it. Or stick with the one I have and have a full vinyl body wrap done to it in white and add on all the extras that I wanted from the 2012. If I stick with the car I have now, I’ll finally get to start doing work on it and only have $4k left to pay on it, down side is I have to pay extra for the leather seats I want, folding heated side mirrors, reverse gear camera, I have no warranty (I don't want to pay for extended), AND I have to get my 30k mile service done sometime soon in the future. There's more new things I want from the 2012 as well.
If I get a 2012 I can get all the features I want i.e. have a factory warranty now (yeah i know all the BS with mitsubishi's warranties), new gauges, folding/heated side mirrors, leather seats, real time traffic in the gps, usb port, green shift light, economy mode, rear park assist, 6cd changer, moon roof, (yes i know some of these are not new to the evo but i dont have it in my current one) down side is its gunna cost $42K, and I cant do work on it for like at least another year.
so what do i do keep it or get the new one?

If you want all the new features, and you can afford it, get the 2012. If they're that important to you then you'll never be happy with the 2008 knowing what you could of had.
Look up the hedonic treadmill.
The point is you will always revert back to the same set point of happiness. This explains consumer behavior. It also explains why we keep modding our cars. The reality, though, is that no matter what you do to your car you will always revert back to the same level of happiness, hence why material possessions do not necessarily lead to happiness.

I completely understand how you fee I also want a new WW evo xl but i am not going to loose money on my evo this time. I really want the heated seats and the color display and the nav, but i plan to keep my 08 model for about another 18-24 months by that time i can get a used 2011 or 2012 for a decent price. also Im modding my car right now and when im done with it, all parts are coming off and the stock parts are being put on again so i can transfer the parts to the new car.
Sounds to me like you have convinced yourself that you want the 2012. If you can be happy with the 08 then keep it. But if you want all the things the 12 has, the 08 won't ever add up. If you can swing the money side of the deal, get what you'll be happy with. If you really can't swing the money side, decide that you'll be happy with what you have.
How does that song go? "If you can't be with the one you love, love the one you're with."

Well really think about it - you already have the car almost payed off and can start modding it soon. Believe me when i say that once you start modding the evo, its a night a day difference. All the other changes that you want could be had aftermarket. Yeah a Brand New 2012 sounds like a good idea but think about how much more money your going to be spending. On that note, if you have the money to splurge and the purchase won't hurt your wallet or cause you to stress about payments, then i say go ahead and do it (not a wise financial move but hey..).
Besides, Red with carbon fiber when not overdone looks so damn good.

i don't think it's a good idea. i mean, you already have an evo. some of the minor features are upgraded but the engine, chassis , suspension are basically the same. and for me, that's the only reason i bought an evo. i'd rather listen to the engine sound (music to my ears) than to that rockford sound system. it just happened that i got a good deal on an ss so why not take it but i in reality, i don't listen to the radio.
so my advice, mod it. it will perform way better than the 2012. and then, you'll be happy... until you want more power.
