X won't start..UPDATE: FIXED

I own a 2008 EVO X GSR. Turned it on the other day and car wouldn't turn over, makes a strange thumping sound. 300miles left on warranty, all stock, all serviced through Bell Mitsubishi. Called Roadside service, and they towed it to a closer Mitsubishi dealership. Service Center was closed yesterday, still waiting for word from them... Sucks, never had a problem with the car, now this during the holidays. Hopefully covered under warranty. Service Engine soon light came on day before, but shut off. Thought it was lit because oil change was approaching. Also, the speakers cut out in the car a couple times, then went back to normal for some odd reason. Weird....

Sounds like your alternator took a dump. When you are driving a car, alternator is not charging and battery gets really low, the radio starts doing weird things. And now it will not even turn over. That is my guess.

You think that's covered under warranty?

So update. After several hours, the dealership finally calls me back. The lady states that one of the non Mitsubishi techs "thinks" It's the timing chain. The Mitsubishi techs are on vacation until Jan 2nd!!!! wtf? So I say, I wanted my car towed to Bell, but I was told it had to be towed to you guys. Could you at least tow the car to Bell where they have techs that aren't on vacation for a week. She says no. So I was confused and asked her well what can you do for me because I have no car. She says I will call us back in a couple of hours after stating that she was only trying to be honest with me.... I can't make this up.

Bell has been great, wants the car towed to them now. I've already made a complaint to corporate.

They should give you a rental car at no cost.

I've never had an issue getting a rental car during warranty repairs, the dealer should be able to get one authorized. Hopefully Bell is able to go get it for you though, out for a week is ridiculous. Call the Mitsu roadside assistance again and have them tow the car.

^^ My dealership told me that Mitsu doesn't cover rental cars for warranty work.

They had my car an entire week and couldn't replicate the drivetrain issue I had it towed in for.. but all the labor for diagnostics was still covered.

They authorized coverage of a rental car for me when my transfer case was replaced under warranty.

I hope they do something. I did call roadside again, but they forwarded the call to corporate. They filed the issue, but won't be able to talk to me until Thursday. So I'm still waiting on a call from this dealership. Last resort, I will just have AAA tow me to Bell, and resolve the issue when corporate calls me back.
