Ford Evos?
I think I say this post before but I just read about it in a magazine today. I was thinking that we call our car an evo (not me since i dont have one yet) and now people are going to get it confused with this. Just doesnt seem right to me

I remember seeing that not so long ago. I believe it is Evos (ee-vos) as opposed to an Evo (ee-voh).
I guess if the Evo is actually registered as an Evolution, the name Evos is well and truly different.

Its a shame they abuse "evo" like that. A name of that stature does not belong on any modern ford. The only Ford cars worthy of a name like that were never sold in the usa. The only 2 Ford cars worthy of that level of respect (or any respect) are the Ford Escort Cosworth RS, and the Ford RS200.

Dodge also made a Lancer back in the day, didn't they?
When I have told people what I drive (an Evo), I've had them ask, the Subaru Evo or the Mitsubishi? and other such things. It doesn't bother me...it gives me a chance to talk about cars!

I think Ford Evos is a pretty bad name for it to be honest. The Mercedes Evolution I and Evolution II are real cars. Never sold to the U.S. The Evo I is my dream car.

The Evolution moniker was used with the Group B Rally cars back in the 80's. Audi had Quattro Sport S1 Evolution. Mitsubishi basically used a term for an upgrade found in Rally Racing. Ford, Lancia, Peugeot and Renault all did it as well. The great thing about the name "Evo" is that it hearkens back to the Group B rally beasts and it maintains the legacy of Mitsubishi in rally racing.

We're getting the Focus ST at the end of the year - I sense a trade-in coming.
